I fully get that Avsim needs money to remain operational. Managing and hosting a forum is not free. Just wondering tho if others are finding it annoying that there are adverts everywhere. I am finding that these adverts are affecting functionality of the forum. For example, I get a notification at the bottom of my phone screen saying Joe Soap has quoted my post but I cannot click the notification to see the quote as their is a word not allowed advert on top of the message. Very annoying when adverts affect functionality.

Or is it just me? Sorry to admins if this is the wrong forum but it is the only one I really visit.

must be  one  of  the lucky  ones  havnt  seen  any  adds  at all   since  dont  use  the  phone  at all  only  use  my pc

Or google pihole and have an effective adblocker for your whole network at the dns level. 

Fully agreed. Can't view the notifications from the bell icon at top, ads blocking it.  Required to close an ad to open any thread.  Every page load takes several seconds to render properly, during which time it's easy to mis-click on an ad as contents keep moving around as ads load in. 

I understand the desire / need for ad revenue too, but this is really drastically and obnoxiously overdone. 

This has been the topic of many posts already in the Hangar forum. The solution is simple. Install an ad blocker like AdBlock Plus. Free.

 

Adverts are necessary to pay for the running of the site and that's OK.  I do agree that the one that blocks the view of your notifications on the phone is a pain though.

Yep indeed is very annoying. What is weird, these super annoying ads are only visible if you use the mobile phone, but if you use the desktop or iPad, they are not visible.

Yeah this is the wrong forum and Admins can move it but this is the forum that most of us visit these days. I seldom visit Hanger or any other forum. I cannot even sign in on my phone if I am signed out as the sign in option is under an advert! 
 

I’m ok with adverts for Avsim revenue but this is seriously affecting forum function. Admins should take note. 

I will try some of the suggestions posted here to block these.

...its a real pita on phone. Another option is to switch to desktop mode one the mobile browser, at least for notifications and stuff.

Same here, I cannot use my phone anymore to reach the full capabilities of the forums. First thing I used to do with my phone just before waking up every morning, but maybe I'd need to sleep with my laptop from now on... 🤣
