February 3, 20224 yr Never being in Australia, but I started flying there in FSX times when ORBX came out with their first FTX AU titles. Meanwhile, I know many areas from Melbourne to Sydney to Brisbane quite well - Pretty nice area to fly. I'm not so familiar with the other regions of the country, but I will fore sure explore some more with MSFS now. - Harry 9800x3D (Strix x870e-E) - 64GB RAM (DDR5 6000, CL 30) - RTX 5090, 34'' 1440p OLED HDR - Windows 11 Pro (1TB M.2) - MSFS 2024 (MS Store, 4TB M.2).
February 3, 20224 yr Anyone else disappointed with a lot of the green area's? First of all a lot of area's have that awful green 'shade' that can also be found elsewhere in MSFS. Even the roads have a green hue. And secondly the greens often are cold and blue-ish and because of this it's impossible to experience a sunny day. Even with the clouds off and a perfectly blue sky things look clouded due to this. The Gold Coast is supposed to look golden, warm, lush, but it looks cold... Not sunny at all. I found an area in the south that does have the warmer greens (as can also be found in parts of Norway for instance) but it's mostly cold blue-ish green all over the place. I have the same problem is the US where the textures often look old and cold. It's as if you are flying over a picture that's been taking in the seventies and that's been lying in the sun too much: all the yellows are gone. Disappointing. Luckily still has enough interesting parts to fly over (where things aren't green at ALL 😉 ) but I do wonder why Asobo doesn't do some color correction on large parts of the world. It's really needed badly.
February 3, 20224 yr Ok the classic favorites, Hervey Bay, Aeropelican and Hamilton Is. have not been enhanced 😏 but Katoomba is here, a b*tch of a strip to land even with a STOL aircraft and, bonus !, the Three Sisters are nearby. February 4, 20224 yr To clear up the question, A Kodiak ferry flight started anywhere in Europe with 1000 mile range should have no problems reaching Australia as there is nowhere where the overwater sector would be over 1000 miles. There would be lots of stops though.
February 4, 20224 yr why not recreate the flight of the uiver, dc2, from mildenhall to melbourne. its fun to do historical flights.

February 4, 20224 yr Author Time-wise, I can't do more than 500 mile legs. So I would have to fly Turkey, Syria, Iraq, Iran, cross India into Bangladesh and Myanmar, head down to Malaysia, Singapore, hitting Jakarta and Surabaya on the way, hopping along the Lesser Sunda Islands, finally crossing over to Darwin...
