February 11, 20224 yr Orbx has given some indications on what they work for 2022. The post is a bit of mess mixing all the sims together (as we say in French, a cat wouldn't find her kittens) but I was happy to read that they have the project of a mesh for South America, hopefully as good as the Himalayas one .They also will release a Panama canal Landmarks product. Might be interesting. Other airports of course. They announce a "swag" (the Australian way to say plenty ?) of aircraft. https://forum.orbxdirect.com/topic/212392-what-we-are-working-on-2022/ PS I had a good laugh to see that they still announce the OpenLC Asia (only old Orbx customers can understand and laugh with me, I suppose. Or cry 😅). February 11, 20224 yr I would love to see KPSP be redone for MSFS, the current version from Axonos is, to say it politely, average... P3D version done by ORBX (Jarrad Marshall) so much better. I certainly would have bought this to complete my collection - 3 years ago. Kind regards, Michael I was nagging Orbx to get them work on it between 2016 and 2019 😉. Then I gave up as it was obvious that John V was not going to do it. Then MSFS came and the rest is history. If you want to fly in Asia with a reasonable terrain, you fly MSFS. I go there from time to time to look at the screenshots and announcements. The OpenLC (NA, Africa SA) that I loved to fly when they were released, are now so outdated that they hurt the eyes. I suspect that OLC Asia will be the same. February 11, 20224 yr Orbx are all over the place with their road map and priorities seem to change internally quite a bit. Not sure if this is due to them partnering with Asobo on some of the world updates or they are just non committal on some of their targets. The UK regions for example were supposed to be released last year. They released central UK but no further updates since and they haven't responded to any questions on the progress of the others. Ryzen 9800X3D, RTX 5090, 64GB, Win 11. MSFS2020. Moza, MFG, Fulcrum & Virpil controllers. Quest 3 for VR.

Agreed. I own probably 90% plus of everything Orbx have ever done and have purchased from them from the start. I have seen a definite change in their strategy, especially after JV stepped down. It looks to me that they are really trying to grab as much of the market as possible. Their roadmap is a very rough guide of what they might intend to release over the next year or six. They are bringing in so many other developers it must be difficult keeping track, but I guess it is a way of generating more income. Either way, I am a big Orbx supporter. I just wish they would release some stuff that has been on the cards for a while now. Rich.
February 11, 20224 yr Panama Canal will be a definite for me, as I went through it in 1976. 🙂 Surely not everybody was kung fu fighting. https://rationalwiki.org

February 11, 20224 yr Commercial Member I'm a huge fan of Orbx. I like their setup and only buy from their central. Makes things easy to update. They produce quality and are a great bunch of guys....granted some are Liverpool FC fans....ouch. You know who you are.

February 11, 20224 yr Author Interesting to note that they don't sell enough city packs to make money "We made a few city packs a bit "out of context," like Cape Town, Dubai and Mumbai, and despite being great executions, with lots of research done and great POIs, they do not seem to be very popular so it is a hard decision for us to keep doing loss-makers." Really loved flying to both airports, since they were exceptionally well done! Unfortunately, Jarrad seems to not being active anymore in the Flightsim industry (or just at ORBX)? His last post on the Orbx Community Forum is dated from 25NOV2020. Hope he's doing well and I wish he started developing again for MSFS.

I've always wondered who buys this kind of stuff? The only things I care about from their roadmap are the planned airports of their thrid party developers: Arlanda, Gardermoen, Podgorica, Gold Coast, Treviso, Launceston and Invercargill. Finn Hansen, Rasha Tucakov, Matteo Veneziani and Marcus Nyberg delivered some top notch 10/10 airports in the past (and I'm really picky when it comes to texturing) and I don't even have to see screenshots in order to know their airports will be on my shortlist upon release. I don't know Andreas Hegi, Ken Hall and Tim Harris yet but I'm curious to find out more about their texturing skills soon! Marcus Nyberg has created a Facebook page called The Arlanda Journal for people who want to follow the ESSA development more closely: https://www.facebook.com/profile.php?id=100077462715941 Good way of keeping people excited and in the loop imho!
