March 14, 20224 yr FYI. I just did a complete uninstall and reinstall, and it still pitches nose down when AP is disconnected. No Chane at all.

After reading your first post on this topic I immediately went and flew a short approach to check. Same for me. No fix, still drops nose after AP disconnect. Too bad, they make a good airplane but their Change Management Practices leave a lot to be desired. In this case communications (patch release delay/confusion) and quality (fix action failed/missing) was dropped. -B

I guess it will be another month or two waiting for a solution. Edited March 14, 20224 yr by Bobsk8
March 14, 20224 yr Something is def. amiss here. Did they pack old files? The modification date of the flight-model.cfg is: 12-23-2021 Systems.cfg: 12-8-2021 Engines.cfg: 2-4-2022
March 14, 20224 yr I did the install on top of the existing version. Flying now and when I disconnect the A/P there is no drop. The ALT stays the same and I watched the trim wheel and it does not move at all upon disconnect. I just tried it about 5 times and it works the same each time. Not sure why I am seeing the supposedly correct behaviour and you guys are not. Mark CYYZ

And did you see the AP disconnect nose drop problem before this latest version update? Al Edited March 14, 20224 yr by ark
March 14, 20224 yr MS Store version. yes I think it did but honestly not something that I noticed as a huge problem. Mark CYYZ

March 15, 20224 yr How are you loaded when you experience that? What is your cg? I am flying the Gear CP version and have it pretty well loaded and I am not noticing that. I am not flying empty. I have a copilot, two passengers in the second row, and 50% fuel.. What in the heck does that have to do with the trim wheel turning nose down aabout 5 degrees when the AP is disconnected. Cheez........ Edited March 15, 20224 yr by Bobsk8

You don't hand fly the approach at least inside the FAF? Heck, if you are mainly along for the ride just buy a ticket and go back and sit in the second or third row. Cheez.... 😉 Kidding aside, if a pilot knows to expect the nose drop when the AP is disconnected, then the problem can be well mitigated, much like the pitch changes you get in some a/c with gear and/or flap extension. I'm sure SWS has been surprised and perhaps embarrassed this issue still exists after they announced it was fixed, and will do what they can to remedy the problem. It could well be it was fixed, and then some subsequent change broke it again before release, or some other odd thing happened, etc. Yes, they should have caught this before release, but they are not the first well respected developer to have to fix a fix! There is a lot that goes into developing and testing a high quality a/c, it is a complex process and it is not that unusual for things like this to happen. Unlike some developers, it is clear SWS is working to improve their product, and at no cost to the customer. Al Edited March 15, 20224 yr by ark
