Which of those two offers the better ADE?

Very good question!  I’m heavily leaning toward FT right now but would love to know the answer to this question.

Right now half the parking spots are missing taxiway connections on REG version, but that’s being fixed in the first patch. Missing connection points aren’t really an issue if you fly using charts/VATSIM. But if you use AI, or the built in ATC, it would be an issue.

The devs of the REG version are very active on their discord. Taking suggestions and bug reports. There are a couple people on there that actually work at CYYZ helping out.

Maybe people buy FT's but then pickup Reg Design's other Toronto area airports....because they look incredible.  I rarely fly to this neck of the woods but if I did that's what I would do - support both devs - old and new!

It's good to see that they are already working hard to make the airport perform better that the original release.

Those days I buy them via ORBX Central where updates are super-easy and usually quickly available.

Kind regards, Michael

Agree 1000%. Which is why I’m a surprised that Fly Tampa now has CYYZ, Athens and Sydney on ORBX but not Vegas! Just built a new system that can handle the scenery and it’s not on ORBX, and I’m definitely no getting it directly. They still have keys in this day and age? ORBX, Just Flight and Simmarket are enough accounts for me!

I'm pretty tied up with ORBX, Contrail, Just Flight and Simmarket.

I really don't care to add another clientside store/download app.

yeah flytampa was always a pain with updates and patches.  Other developers not so much.  I feel like numerous times patches were released that I had no idea about.  Sometimes it wasn't even clear if I had the most recent version installed in the first place.

You should fly here Ryan.  If you fly on Vatsim, we have minor airports with controllers on quite a bit, ready to handle your VFR and IFR traffic.

Possibly because KLAS is by Emilios. He might not want his stuff on OrbX. Remember that FlyTampa is a development house with, I believe, three essentially independent developers.

Maybe I will hehe.  I'm actually working irl in a sector not terribly far from YYZ...  on the northern side of MI - this is how I had come to hear of REG Designs...  I was exploring the airspace and wasn't very familiar with the Canadian airspace across Lake Huron.  Some of the sectors over there are called Lucan, Oakville, Centralia hehe.  Still stuck in training due to covid but eventually I'll be coordinating with the controllers in Canada...

CE, OV and LU are sectors across the river in southwestern Ontario.  We rarely simulate OV and LU on Vatsim.  Usually CE is used for large events to cover the area south west of YYZ.

The FT CYYZ doesn't have parking at  the A1 gates. They're modelled, but there's no parking or even a taxiway going there.

Well, THAT is for sure a bummer. I wonder why? Can't be missed, no?

I bought the FT version and it looks great with performance on par with a big airport in a large city.

My only gripe is the ADE, it needs work with aircraft parked at gates seemingly without any consideration for what airlines fly out of which terminal.  I also had an issue with the gate next to me changing what aircraft was there every time I looked at it…not sure if that’s an ADE issue or a core AI issue but I don’t recall seeing it elsewhere.

Hopefully FT can fix up the ADE…they had a really good selection of them based on runway configs in the P3D version.  Maybe detailed ADE work was a victim of trying to get this to market ASAP?

Beyond the ADE, which should be fixable, this is a solid rendition of an airport I know very well.
