Aerosoft CRJ 550/700: can you recommend it?

Why does it always happen when I make a decision then follows the litany of negativity 😟

Don't worry, unless you are a real life CRJ pilot you will probably not notice anything. As for LNAV: it works; I mean it does overshoot sometimes but corrects itself again so not that much of an issue. To be honest the PMDG LNAV (in P3D) is worse sometimes...
Not trying to be apologetic and as I said, I don't like Aerosoft for their poor committment beyond fixing critical issues, but the CRJ is good.

For transparency: I'm a community mentor at the BATC discord. However, I do not get paid for it in any way.

Well it sounds hopeful thanks I appreciate it!  It will be something new to learn and I'm okay w/ that piece.

Not here, good choice. I like it very much. Just did a nice flight from LEBL to LEIB and all fine

its very solid. best commercial airliner so far although FBW320 is amazing as well and free.

For me it is just a fine Addon, flies well frames are very good and well done from the Dev's, not study Level but not that far away..

cheers 😉

No, it is for me a typical Aerosoft half baked product. Tried several flights and it ends always in the question if this is now a real world "feature" or another Aerosoft bug.

Main issues I have with L/VNAV which is very basic and not reliable.

I’d recommend it.  LNAV can be a bit wonky but it mostly works well.  VNAV on the other hand doesn’t work right, so I don’t use it, and I suspect most real world operators don’t either.  Get the sounds from FTSim as they are much better than stock.

I just bought it, got familiar w/ the FMC and autopilot, but could use a formal overview to clarify a couple of basic points, and this was only from direct input of a flight plan versus Simbrief, and starting already configured for takeoff on the runway.

Thanks all for your inputs.  Any favored tutorials appreciated.

Good choice. As per the manual: The CJR comes with one, buried somewhere in the MSFS folders. Sorry, not at my pc right now. Also, the Dude posted some crj videos. He flies the crj in real life

Well, I know you already made your decision, so this is late, but I enjoy the CRJ. Before I purchased it and started flying her, I was much more of a bush and GA only type of simmer. But, the CRJ has been a great first step into flying an airliner type of aircraft, so the complexity of it, I find, is just right. Complex enough to keep me interested in learning the systems, but not overly so that I get frustrated and give up learning the aircraft. And, as others stated, I think she looks great in MSFS and performs smoothly.

All that said, and you are already using the CRJ 🙂 At least this is one more person that is not giving you a negative response 😉

I guess you're new to flight simulation.

Hard pass hehe.  Aircraft's AP can't even make a gentle turn on LNAV with a slight wind aloft.  Aside from that the FMS has issues loading an IAP AFTER having already loaded a STAR.  This aircraft is meant to be flown from the MSFS default flight planner imo....  it might be fun for some users... but I prefer to be able to manipulate the FMS in flight!

By the way: You can make a flightplan with Simbrief and with the Downloader you can save it for the Aerosoft CRJ.

Therefor you are able to delete waypoints or make direkt to waypoint flights and other stuff like that .

cheers 😉
