Please do not laugh but having purchased Concorde this morning and diligently speed reading through the manual, I have not been able to take off as I cannot work out for the life of me how to set up my Thrustmaster Airbus TCA to operate more than just two engines 😞 Does anybody know of an 1diots Guide to achieving this please?

Bind to throttle axis only, not the individual settings like throttle 1, throttle 2 etc. Works fine here using  Thrustmaster Warthogg set up.

AMD Ryzen 7 5800x3d, MSI X570 Pro, 32 gb DDR4 3600 ram, Gigabyte 6800 16gb GPU, 1x 2tb Samsung  NvMe , 1x 2tb Sabrent NvME, 1x Crucial 4tb Nvme M2 Drive

you're supposed to walk about to view the interior using the keypad arrows

I can't get this to work. Possibly because I use a head tracker, and because MSFS's handling of cameras is idiotic and about 10 years behind FSX. 😉

Bind one throttle to engines 1 and 3, and the other throttle to engines 2 and 4.

The extra two inputs will be ignored on twins, which will only take inputs for 1 and 2, so you won't lose the dual engine control as you would if you just bound it to the single throttle axis. The only downside is that differential thrust on 4 engine planes won't work anymore, but unless you fly something like the DC-6 that won't matter.

MSFS really needs to take a page out of the DCS playbook and give us the option to configure controls differently for each aircraft.

Most of these video creators are just looking for more exposure and some donations. He should have focused on doing some research and on creating better content, instead of disparaging an add-on that was evident that he could not handle.

Absolutely. Instead of focusing on a single aspect (flight deck familiarization or startup for example) and having the viewers absorb the majority of the content) they run an embarrassing show with the viewers learning very little. The value of such a presentation is bewildering. While the name of Rusty Dog is very appropriate for the video, perhaps he has aspirations to be like the YouTuber Airforceproud95.

@DC1973 Congrats to begin with! People are always quick to jump on the slightest negative. From my readings of different forum chats, the release is holding up very well. I just wish people had a better understanding of what goes into the development of a model, and even more so on a completely new platform. The heaviest complaints on the model are the textures and the interior appearance around the windows. Once people read the manual and take the time to fly the Concorde appropriately, things will settle out accordingly. Two bad lines of coding out of 20,000! That is the type of info viewers and users need to know! Cheers and blue skies in Mach land!

I also use TrackIr, has nothing to do with it. There are control setting called "translate cockpit view" (or so), just bind those forward, left, right, backwards with the arrows on your keyboard. Those will enable you to move through any VC, which works perfectly together with TrackIr (a la: Arrows move the body, TrackIr moves the head).

For transparency: I'm a community mentor at the BATC discord. However, I do not get paid for it in any way.

Except for the fictional FMS and some apparent bugs, I have not yet seen anyone coming to a point where poor or wrong system modeling shows. Which is a good sign I guess. If this is more or less on Aerosoft-level (who are also not study level, but cover that fact up pretty well), I might be intrigued to buy after all, especially since a texture rework is planned.
So anyone with (RL or sim) experience with the Concorde, go ahead and dig deeper into this aircraft!

EDIT: Oh and something else - please update the cold&dark state (or enable state changing), so all buttons/switches are off. I love flipping switches and the Concorde has enough of them, so that would be another condition for me for a potential purchase.

For those who complained that there were only 4 colour schemes - there 16 already on flightsim/to

I just got Qantas !!!!  nice !!!

I noticed at the end of Rusty's video he showed three flight plans from EGLL-KJFK. None of those is suitable for Concorde as they cross Ireland and Nova Scotia.

Concorde had a fixed plan with the only deviations being the take-off and landing runways. Here are the waypoints you need to enter into your plan. They keep Concorde to the south of Ireland and south of Nova Scotia to ensure she remained supersonic for as long as possible.

WOD - CPT - MALBY - KESUP - MERLY - LESLU - 5115N - 5120N - H5030 - 4940N - 4750N - 4653N - 4460N - 4365N - 4267N - KENDA - LINND - 3972N - OWENZ - CAMRN.

Some of these are not exact lat / lon such as 5115N which is N50.41.00 W015.00.00 but as you cannot enter lat / lon in MSFS I'm not sure how you can get these precise.

KESUP is the accel point. Concorde would turn north before reaching CAMRN under ATC direction.

Definitely need C&D state at the gate.  I tried to save the state with all buttons and switches off but then after reloading I found I had issues with some switches not wanted to move.  Most notably the De-Icing switches.  Was iced over until I got above the clouds.

Thanks for all the kind words and support! 🙂

Re Cold and Dark, I didn't want to put the target-market user through the full Checklist set-up as it's very long, hence the shorter version and with many switches set to their "On" positions. However, I think that it should be so that those items on the Checklist are all in their "Off" positions so I will organise that for the update next week.

In the spirit of this Concorde being one that can be made as complex as the user wishes, it's actually fairly easy to build up the detail of the start-up Checklist and procedure. Basic XML knowledge can be used to "grow" the Checklist document, and setting the ( many ) LVar switches in the cockpit to condition=0 can be done in the "Apron.flt" file - some are there already.

I don't want to make that so in the standard version though, for the reasons already mentioned.

So far it's mostly positive reviews, and even Rusty Dog said he didn't regret buying Concorde. If his own errors are removed from his account, then it's down to a couple of switches not indicating properly, which I corrected in the code as I watched it.

I was extremely impressed at the sheer number of usable switches/buttons/levers! I have so many planes I need to spend more time in, and this will be one of them. I can't wait to see where this bird goes with future updates!

That seems like aerodynamics of another plane, what are you trying to say?

So managed to muddle my through from C&D to Cruise on my very first trans-atlantic flight ever from EGCC to KJFK. Somehow managed to kill the engines on descent (god-bless Ctrl-E) but finally captured the ILS after about 4 hrs flight time. The thing was beeping at me during approach, didn’t know why until I had a pretty hard landing but had no reverse, braking or rudder control. Odd. About 10 seconds after touchdown it dawned on me why it was beeping…I forgot to lower the landing gear….good times haha. The plane is very fun though. Lots to learn!

This is how DC design  circumvent the limitation of the SDK. There is no delta wing configuration support in MSFS.
