Anyone Else No Sales Confirmation EMAIL from PMDG?

Recommended Posts

Bought it just before the site went AWOL. No email as yet - but I'm sure it'll happen ... eventually!!!

Got the email fine ... but can't get on the server to download. A victim of their own success! Personally, I don't mind waiting.

Come on....  what is the rush?  Departures currently being delayed by one to two hours (or more) due to congestion.  That due to a burdensome influx of new flight plans!  Supply of available jet fuel is now running low at many airports.  And then there are rumors of a new Boeing recall.....  LOL!

I'm stuck in the 2FA download part. More than 30 for initial email and I've been stuck here for at least 15 min.

All good. We'll get there. Meanwhile, PMDG is picking out their new company cars.

[09MAY22] PMDG 737 URGENT MUST READ NOTAMS (Last Updated: 09MAY22 - 2200Z)

Captains,

We are seeing an unprecedented level of demand for our little 737 project. This was not unexpected, and was planned for.

To that end, we want to feed a bit of information to you that is important:

2200Z: UPDATE
At approximately 2145Z we were advised by the company managing licensing and activation that it was necessary to take the system offline temporarily to correct a problem that is inhibiting the download/activation system from scaling up to greater resource use properly.

They report to us that a significant number of users are impacted by undelivered activation keys, but that this will sort itself out once they bring the system back online.

While this work is underway, we have temporarily halted sales, as we don't want to compound the problem.

IMPORTANT: If you are having trouble downloading, authorizing, or activating- please watch this thread as you will not get through the process until we bring this system back online. I'll be back to you as soon as I have additional information from the data center.

PMDG has taken their servers offline until the authentication company can ramp up their capacity. PMDG forums will be the source for updates.

Well as good as it may be for all of those at PMDG with their new cars and vacations, I'm still out $69.95, it has been about 70 min now and I still got bumpkis.  Got an email.  Nothing more.

My feedback to Robert R below.  It is a comment from me in response to his big SOS NOTAM he has had to post at top of PMDG forums

-B

Robert, sincere feedback. Towards the end of the "Promo" the internet was having some fun at PMDG expense. Many found it boring, and said they would not buy today. This was especially true outside of CONUS. The result of these antics is clearly a Big Egg on PMDG face. I got an email, but nothing else. I can go no farther. I'm not isolated. I'm one of many.

If you read their newest announcements on the forum they clearly tell you what's happening and the demand they have been seeing is very high. You will get your product - More patience is needed.

This pretty much how major releases tend to play out in the gaming industries. Initial launch of a highly anticipated product will always result into download issues and other drama for the first couple of hours. If one doesn't want to deal with that, they should always wait like a day before purchasing.

I can't even get the PMDG site to open up. In the grand scheme of things, this is excellent. We have been told for the past couple of years before MSFS came out that flight simulation was a tiny niche market that was in the process of dying. Now, the hobby is doing so well we're breaking the internet over one airplane

They're going to be popping some corks in Las Vegas tonight for sure.

Patience, Grasshopper.

What I don't get is the need to authenticate an email in order to initiate the download. The installer itself already has an activation / authentication process that uses a completely different code / key.

That completely unnecessary step is what appears to be resource constrained right now.

Sorry, I have patience and grace but my words stand. PMDG has major egg and reputation loss, not to mention the extreme negative customer reactions due to the fact “money gone, no product” but to make matters worse, “website down, no help available”

Last reported messages from PMDG was they were trying to procure new authentication partners?  Also reported that RR said during all the childish hype of today there was no way PMDG would crash and if it did he would buy us all steak dinners on the private island they will buy with the millions made”.

PMDG just lost their “Professional Shine”.  I wonder how many will now balk at the silly “we’re all professional here.  Full names required” nonsense.

You are taking this way too seriously and it's like you've never bought a very high in demand product on an online store before. Anyway - Their main website might be offline but their official forums https://forum.pmdg.com/ is still online where you can get support and read announcements. They are also posting on their Facebook page :https://www.facebook.com/pmdgsimulations/

You could also have bought tomorrow or in a couple of days time if you didn't want to get impacted by the high demand.
