Must be something terrible wrong with my rig, I have zero massive tearing or terrible lag and so on and worse of all my eyes must be shot as my sim is smooth as is the Fenix and the display rendering.

Oh well I must say I have enjoyed the entertainment but I must get on with my 3rd non tearing, non laggy nice smooth flight of the day

30 FPS is stuttery as heck on my system when switching to external views and rotating the camera...

 

Otherwise, I'd be happy with only 30 FPS!

I am always amazed and jealous when I read things like this.  I once turned off my normal 30 FPS lock just to see on my system and was giggly when I saw 38 FPS in cruise flight.  I of course locked it back down to 30,  I usually see it flickering around 25 at the big airports which I guess is ok.  60 FPS? - that is but a distant dream for me.  Good for you mate, sincerely.

I was amazed as well. Who thought a complex airliner addon will get 60 FPS in MSFS right ? But PMDG indeed did it.... Note i am running at 1080p with rtx2070 and 10700K so not exactly a Nasa PC...

Does anyone know if I will get decent performance with the Fenix A320 with my system? I'm kind of hesitant about purchasing it due to fear that it will not perform well. I run the sim in 4K pretty much at ultra settings. Can anyone with similar system specs let me know their experiences so I can decide whether to buy it or not.

Even at 4K resolution though?

have a 2080ti and getting 30-40 fps on the PDMG but the fenix is giving me around 10! (even when I switch to GPU and balanced it only gives me a few more frames and improves slightly if I fly from a "smaller" airport - anyone got any tips to improve this?

Some guy at Fenix Discord complained today he have a  lot of performance issues. He has 3090 and 12900K. So to your question, maybe yes maybe no.

On a side note, i saw Fenix is working on version 1.0.2 that might improve performance.

Exactly my concern here. Since the item is non-refundable. I'm hesitant on buying it.

The best i can advice you is to wait till they release the new version which supposed to improve performance and see what people are saying.

Sure, 60fps or more would be great I guess. But that’s far from reality if you want to run in 4K. You have to make a compromise at some point. I’ve locked fps to 30fps a long time ago. And that’s usually a smooth experience. But certainly Fenix is more demanding on system resources, especially CPU. And I have a fairly high-end system. 

So I think it’s not really a matter of what fps gives you the best experience in MSFS, but what you can realistically achieve with current hardware. 

Random question - one I should probably know - but I have a super beefy system and right now I'm VSYNC locked with FPS in the sim set to 60, but in reality it gives me 30 FPS. I want to see how far I can take the Fenix, so....

Question 1: Would I be able to lock it in the sim settings to 60FPS?

Question 2: Would I get smooth experience by trying to double that, or would the tiny micro-stutters make it less smooth at double the FPS and ruin the experience?

Thanks. I'm really a noob with this stuff and honestly have no idea how any of it works. For the record I have a Samsung 4K UHD-LED monitor that runs at 60 hertz. Not sure if that will make any difference, but I'd like to see what "greater than 30FPS" looks like with this plane.

depends on how well tuned your system is,

using 2080Ti & 9700K here with Process Lasso - all at 4K,

& Fenix works well…
