It's simulating more than just flying the plane, it feels like you're actually operating a real flight. I've been enjoying this aspect of it very much as well. This is the only plane I have any trouble with frame rates. I wonder if the passenger cabins high detail is wreaking havoc with my performance issues? I do hope this plane gets better(for me, or others having difficulty), it does have huge potential.... May 24, 20224 yr I am running at 3340x1440, terrain LOD 150 with Objects LOD at 100, photogrammtery off and no traffic, struggling to maintain 30 FPS with the fenix (1080Ti and i7-8700k) so I must be doing something wrong with other settings. I did my tests at Gayasim LOWW and MK Studios EFHK which I heard are performance hogs, so that may be the culprit.

I haven't even enabled the onboard GPU so I assume it is just rendering using raw CPU power. I was not trying to brag, quite the opposite. I was nervous about buying this addon due to all the comments made throughout this thread. I think it all depends on how you run your settings for the exact specific hardware you have. No offense, but I'm not buying that. I've been in the computer industry for over 35 years and have never heard of that or seen evidence. Or Aamir, can you put a 4k galley texture somwhere on your Fenix site for download so I and others can check this out? Hi, I was the user who first experimented with the Galley (8k) texture. I've been liaising with Aamir about the findings, so he's definitely interested in this. I resized the texture in the easiest way possible - using Paint.NET (not to be confused with MS Paint). https://www.getpaint.net/download.html The 8k galley texture in question is called:- FRONT_GALLEY_ALBD.PNG.DDS and is located at:- [Community folder]\fnx-aircraft-320\SimObjects\Airplanes\FNX320\texture.VC 1). First make a back up of this texture file. 2). Drag the file onto your desktop item for Paint.NET 3). The file opens. Select IMAGE from the top menu, towards the left, then RESIZE 4). Where you see the '8192' value for image width, change this to 4096. (The Height value will change to 4096 automatically). 5). Hit FILE, and SAVE. 6). As the file is a DDS, an options box will appear. It should be defaulted to the correct DDS file type, but just ensure it is set to BC3 Linear (DXT5). 7). Hit OK, and close Paint.Net 8). The file has now been reduced from 8k to 4k. Go and try out the Fenix and see if stutters are improved, especially when panning to the right (from the captain's seat). You try this at your own risk, and I'd recommend not attempting this if you are in any way unsure about the actions above. It will (in the long run) be better to wait to see what Aamir finds, and any potential option provided for reducing this large file within the product. 👍 Edited May 25, 20224 yr by JYW Bill 😎FS2024 • Currently in 'GA mode' : A2A Comanche 2024 & Aerostar • Black Square C208, Bonanzas, Barons, TBM850, Dukes • COWS DA40 & DA42 • FSW Legacy, C24R Sierra & C414 • Echo Falco F8L • FFX HJET, Visionjet and P180 2024 • Got Friends A32 Vixxen • FSReborn Sirius TL3000, Sting S4 and Piper M500 • Flyboy Rans S6S • Skyward DA50RG • SWS Zenith CH701, RV-8, RV-10, RV-14, PC12 • Milviz C310R • Air Foil Labs Bristell B23 TrackIR • BeyondATC • PMS GTN Payware • RealTurb • Axis & Ohs • FS Realistic Pro9800X3D • RTX 3080 • 64GB DDR5-6000NPPL licence holder in the UK

Are you struggling with performance on your system? Mine is not too dissimilar and I have had zero issues, the Fenix is actually better than the FBW. I can maintain 30FPS (locked in NVCP) at London Heathrow in 4K along with traffic and the Fenix rendering the displays on the CPU at the quality setting. I have used paintdotnet in the past to resize FBW textures that were really big. I did mention previously in this thread that maybe for those struggling to resize all the textures in one livery to 2k and see if it helps, I haven't had to do that as of yet. I spent a lot of time when I got my 4K TV dialing in the settings for my system so I can run the sim with decent results until I can start upgrading my hardware which will be soon.
