May 20, 20224 yr Last night I came across and watched what turned out to be the best flight movie I've seen in years. I was very surprised at how interesting it was for someone who is interested in flying. It's called Horizon Line, a 2020 Swedish produced movie about a couple in a small plane. I was not really planning to watch a movie but this one caught my attention, and before I knew it I had watched the entire thing Guess it caught my imagination. I found it very entertaining. You might also?. Let me know if you agree. https://www.imdb.com/video/vi646758681/?playlistId=tt5498354&ref_=vp_rv_0 Hardware: i7-8700k, GTX 1070-ti, 32GB ram, NVMe/SSD drives with lots of free space. May 20, 20224 yr Most aviation moves tend to be fairly cheesy and unrealistic. I guess "Sully" comes the closest in terms of realism and production quality. "Up in The Air" is excellent, but it's more about being a passenger and frequent traveler than aviation - but still excellent. The best work of fiction around aviation is probably "Airframe" by Michael Crichton - one of the few novels of his that has yet to be made into a movie. And in terms the best movie ever made that involves flying, I have to agree with "Airplane". It's arguably more realistic than most "serious" films involving airplanes, and it's infinitely more entertaining. 🙂

May 21, 20224 yr I think AIRPORT is one of my all-time favorite flight movies. That is when people dressed to the 9s to fly, and the pilots were gods. I remember having to get dressed up at a 12-year-old and getting on the plane and having the captain have me in the flight deck to show me around. That was the golden age of flight. Regards Ted

That is just another part of the genius behind Airplane for them to come up with stuff like that 😄 Matthew Kane I'm Dyslexic, what's an error to you is not to me
May 21, 20224 yr I just happened to watch Horizon Line by coincidence this week . A lot of the film was interesting to me, being a long-time flight simmer. But a lot of the movie was quite implausible as well. It's the old adage of What could go wrong? But I was rooting the whole time for the two very inexperienced pilots to land the plane safely. It reminded me a little of the non-pilot guy who recently somehow landed a Caravan in West Palm Beach without a scratch on him or the plane...
May 21, 20224 yr It wasn't a full flight movie, but in the film Capricorn One, there is a fantastic flying sequence, with Telly Savalas as a crop duster pilot flying a Stearman Kaydet. He is being chased by a helicopter with the hero hanging onto a wing.
