Hang on though, didn't you just make a completely Fenix-unrelated thread into a Fenix thread?   Thus exacerbating the thing that irritates you most here at the mo! 😁

This is a reply to tell you I won't be replying because I don't want to exasperate the Fenix topic any longer, but didn't want to not reply because I thought you'd think I was ignoring your accurate observation, and that would be rude.

Thank you for pointing out that I'm creating my own regenerative feedback loop to this dilemma, and hopefully in a few months/years the A320 posts will subside, and be replaced with Fenix A350/380 posts, or PMDG 777/747/757 posts. 😉

I promise at that time I'll refrain posting any comments about dedicated forums or the lack thereof.

Please don't reply, yet if you feel the need to be polite and let me know you've read this post, just hit a like or upvote and we'll put this sub-topic to bed.

I guess I should go fly her instead of chatting about her...but I'm busy at the moment testing the "other" airliner's upcoming model(s)?" 😉

me too, especially for his employees.yes  but .... reminds me of the book by that other Austin: Jane Austen - Pride and Prejudice.  it was Austin Myer who said back then when MSFS was released: "MSFS - hmm I haven't tried it, you mean that game for Microsoft toy-box?"

Oh dear. I guess it was in the early stages of MSFS and he was “shooting from the hip”, as he tends to do. Things look a bit different now as most of us knows.

My guess is Austin is staying awake nights trying to figure out what to do next.

Steve, have you considered a Flux Capacitor?  I hear they are pretty cheap now that Delorean is no longer in business and it might give you an opportunity to revisit the early days of the posting craze and perhaps…shift the narrative just a bit to a more nuanced one?😇😇😇

More likely he’s up at night delving even deeper into the blade element calculations and still cannot give a word not allowed about “that toy game pretending to be a serious simulator”.

It says on the SWS website "update available" and the zip file is dated 20220530. Downloading now.

I don't see where it says update available. Howevere, if I go to My Account, then My Downloads and Updates, I see a download link for it. If I click that then it downloads Installer_SWS_Kodiak_Wheels_MSFS_20220530.zip so it's the update, just notifications anywhere for me that it was available or how to go about getting it (had to figure it out on my own).

EDIT: Should have checked my email this morning. Got the update email in there.

I doubt that. I reckon he's doubled his time with his converted hair dryer wind-o-meter to convince us that the new flight model is perfect. Which is exactly what happened with the last flight model which apparently is now in need of even more perfection.😀 Who cares?

On the SWS discord a few are reporting sputtering sound/cutoff when throttles at idle on approach or just before touchdown. Anyone experience this? How’s the update overall? When releasing AP on an ILS/RNAV approach, is the transition better now? No more dropping of the nose?

Update works  great, almost 50 FPS, no problems except sometimes the Fenix app won't close after a flight, have to use Task Manager to close it. They are supposed to fix this.

And you just did the update on top of the old version right? That’s my usual way. I see most are uninstalling before this update.

Disregard the post you quoted, I posted that in another thread, don't know what happened.

Just had a chance to try it out after the update.

  • Fixed bug where aircraft noses down when autopilot disengages

This is a great one.

  • Implemented engine hot starts

Hm. I can't seem to simulate a hot engine start. Setting the ambient temp to 40 degrees C then doing repeated starts without any period of cooldown. Even running at close to max torque for a while in order to increase engine temperature. Whenever I start it up the ITT never exceeds the limit.

  • Implemented engine failure due to overstress, overtorque, overheat
  • Implemented starter failures over time or with abuse.
  • Implemented fatigue persistence for engine and starter

Haven't had the chance to try these out yet but it seems promising.

  • Created PFD & MFD cameras

This is another good one that I'm sure I'm going to be using quite a lot.

...

Anyone got any input re: hot starts? Am I misinterpreting something here?

EDIT: I remember in the Hot Start TBM for XP11, the issue of hot starts were very relevant if you didn't pay attention.
