DLSS will provide you not a single extra frame per second if you are in a CPU-limited situation (which is quite often the case in MSFS...). I wonder how people think that due to DLSS, they will get extra FPS?

I hear this often but it leaves me to wonder, shouldn’t the RTX cards not be the bottleneck in a computer? I always thought the RTX lineup are top tier cards.

/ CPU: Intel i7-9700K @4.9 / RAM: 32GB G.Skill 3200 / GPU: RTX 4080 16GB /

Freight Pilot

Is there anyway to create a second partition or something to test SU10?  I am interested in the VR DLSS and generally helping with testing but I don’t want to do it 100% or the time between now and August. Would be nice to go back and forth if possible.

Exactly BECAUSE a very fast GPU like the RTX cards are NOT the bottleneck, DLSS will not help you anything with FPS (besides the fact that also a RTX 3060 has the "RTX" designation and is far away from being a "top tier card"). IF your CPU struggles to maintain e.g. 30 FPS, no DLSS factor will ever provide you more than those 30 FPS, that is all I am saying... Or did you mix GPU and CPU?

AMD Ryzen 7 9800X3D, 2x32GB DDR5 6000MT/s RAM, MSI RTX 4090 Ventus 3X, Windows 11 Home, MSFS2024

DLSS is not the holy grail going on past Sim/game experiences, especially for VR that is. Still, will be interesting to see if it works ok in this one.

Pico Neo3 Link VR - Windows 11 64bit, Gigabyte Z590 Aorus Elite Mobo, i7-10700KF CPU, Gigabyte RX 9070 XT OC 16gb (AMD GPU), 32gig Corsair 3600mhz RAM, SSD x2 + M.2 SSD 1tb x1

Saitek X45 HOTAS - Saitek Pro Rudder Pedals - Logitech Flight Yoke - Homemade 3 Button & 8-directional Joystick Box, SNES Controller (used as a Button Box - Additional USB Numpad (used as a Button Box)

If I am not entirely wrong, you can opt out of the beta by simply singing off the insider hub. With the risk of downloading the full MSFS again though...

DLSS will be beneficial if your sim is GPU limited and you're running 1440p or 4k.

Intel Core i5-12600k, Nvidia RTX 4070 Super, 128 Gigs.

DLSS isn't going to help me, most of the time I'm CPU limited with frame time spikes - hopefully DX12 in time will help with that - I'm not putting my mortgage on it though.

New PC Ryzen 9850X3D - 32gb ddr5 6000Mhz - MSI MAG B850 Tomahawk wifi - Gigabyte wind force gaming OC 5090 - 2TB Sabrent NVMe. Old PC - Ryzen 5900x - 32gb 3600Mhz RAM - Asus Strix X570-F Motherboard - ASUS TUF OC RTX 3090 - 1TB Sabrent NVMe. AOC AGON 32" 144Hz - Honeycomb Yoke - Thrustmaster HOTAS Warthog. T Flight Rudder Pedals - Trackir.

Is it too late to join the beta team?  How do you do it?

I am 100% GPU limited in VR with the Varjo Aero and 3090. Varjo has 5 levels of PPD/Resolution and right now only level 3 can be used. Shimmering is also a big issue in VR. The CPU limits you around 40-45 FPS.  Not expecting a miracle in smoothness with DLSS but there is a chance it will deliver some impressive resolutions, improved  clouds and more consistent 40 FPS. In VR there is a lot to gain. 2D is 100% CPU holding it back in 95% of situations with high end hardware.

That being said DLSS could be a major disappointment in VR as well. I am certainly not holding my breath but it will be fun to try this weekend or next if it’s all unstable and terrible today.

It's an open Beta, you can join any time after it releases.

They haven't done a closed beta for a while. Pretty sure the last 2 or 3 SUs were all open betas.

The best one we ever got was SU6 imo. The performance was butter smooth and consistent! I have high hopes for SU10. I'm stuck at work but I'm looking forward to the feedback of those of you who are able to test it in one and a half hours from now.

5800X3D. 32 GB RAM. 1TB SATA SSD. 3TB HDD. RX  9070XT.

Yeah, being able to assign a key to turn off the taxi ribbon would be nice. It would also be nice to have a much more subtle option of the guide itself rather than the huge blue arrows.

The good news is that I have been using the airport diagram more to taxi, the problem with that is the taxi markings at the FS2020 airports is lacking compared to real life and you often don't have any indication of what taxi way you are on.

There are already a couple of taxi ribbon mods that make the arrows less huge and not blue. One is literally called "Subtle Taxi Ribbon":
