New Caravan coming - Black Square steam gauge overhaul

Featured Replies

This package is pretty slick,  imo.   My ear always perk up when I hear the word "floats".

As much as I like this specific Caravan (probable SU10 bugs aside) I'm really pleased this release has show how well the concept of these add-on works.

It sounded an interesting and ambitious idea when I first read about it a few weeks ago but there's no guarantee that a good idea on paper will translate into a good idea in practice, so it's great to see that in this case it does and I look forward to seeing where else they might want to go with this beyond the planned KA350.

I've mentioned this before,  but FTsim's sound packs for the 208 and King Air sound way better than the default sounds.

Access to his work is obtained by joining his Patreon page for one month,  when the month is over you can cancel your sub.  Access starts at $2 per month.

The 208/King Air sound packs are each single folders which drop into your community folder.

FYI, He is also working on a sound pack for AIG traffic.

Kaiii3 from AIG made this statement in response to one of my prior posts on this subject,   "Soundpack will be integraded into OCI when more packs are included 🙂"

I'm concerned about the lack of a visible flight director in any preview....

Does the real one even have a flight director?  That exact instrument doesn't look like it has a FD bar

Just on my first flight with it. Love the look, finally a nice 208. However, the sound seems off. I can hear wind, but no engines (well, a bit, but very faint). And yes, I checked that all sound levels in MSFS are at 100%. Anyone else has problems?

P.S.: PMS GTN 750 worked right away for me.

Never seen one that doesn't.  Maybe it's on MEL? LOL

Well, I got it. Was hoping to hold out for the king air, but I'll probably be at work by the time it comes out. Overall, I'm very impressed. Zero hit to performance (flying in VR), flies well, and the whole flight deck is functional. It'd be cool if they implemented random failures (similar to the C310), but otherwise, definitely worth $30 if you like steam gauges. If this is a precursor to the quality of the King AIr, probably won't be touching tubes for awhile haha.

Do you have "headphone - ON" in sound settings by any chance?

Actually, the KAP 140 cannot drive an FD.. so it would serve no purpose..😉

I thought I couldn't do that because the GTN 750 was already in place when I first loaded the plane, but now I understand your question better. No, I didn't see the FD, but as you pointed out, there may be a reason for that.
