Sim Update 10 Beta 1.27.14.0 available now

Recommended Posts

My experience is identical to most: Great performance with the first beta release of SU10. Totally downhill ever since, especially with the withdrawal of DX12 optimizations.

Beta 3 is a definite improvement for me over Beta 2 which made me revert to DX11. With Beta 3 I can go back to DX12 and it's really pretty smooth. Not quite as smooth under all and any circumstances as Beta 1 was, but on the whole, pretty good.

Complaints. X-Box comparisons. VR issues/complaints. Why was it released? What are they playing at?

My sim works fine, I am locked at 30 FPS using 30HZ on my $1500 monitor. It's brilliant for me. Best sim ever. Why are you all complaining?

Usually goes something like the above...

As usual, it is such a mixed bag with so many varying results for different people.

Call me Bob or Rob, I don't mind, but I prefer Rob.

I like to trick airline passengers into thinking I have my own swimming pool in my back yard by painting a large blue rectangle on my patio.

I guess the only certain thing right now is that it's highly uncertain how the sim will perform next Tuesday. Better put on those harnesses 'cause the next few weeks might be a bit rough..

I think this thursday can be the last update before final version. (I mean final beta and official SU.)

All I would say is keep your expectations very, very, very low.

Like others have reported it has been all downhill after a very promising start.

Added a few "very" because it's true.

Just when I get SU9 performing well...now SU10 hits and I'll do it all over again

This is in the spirit of @Ianrivaldosmith 's post above.  heh.

I've always criticized MSFS development in the past, but honestly I have to admit that since SU6 it has only improved.

Currently we have far better graphics than SU4 with far better performance than SU5, plus many more world updates and fewer bugs.

We are 2 years in on a development path that will last many more years and we (they) have caught the right trajectory.

Let's enjoy what we have for a moment 🙂

Performance of this build is all over the place, rural areas are much better, built up areas much worse, next flight (after Sim restart) and the built up areas are decent but the rural areas have lost performance 🤪

Fingers crossed for one more build to level it off a bit.

I'm guessing the reason you state you have such a ludicrously expensive monitor is because it's G-sync enabled. I'm not referring to myself here but I can understand that maybe, just maybe, not everyone else can afford that. So is your point here, to quote a Nirvana song, that we all need to realise you gotta 'pay to play' and we need to own a $1500 monitor to run things smoothly?
