I made subtle changes but the overal image looks more real to me.

Different preferences I guess, but I usually go down on highlights (which I guess is "hoogtepunten") to get more contrast in the sky/clouds.

Much better with HDR reduced.

This is what I get with ReShade:

John, that makes two of us "shortsighted" 🤣

Can't find it either, and long goes the time I had to spend 85% of my simming time reading about tweaks, fixes, GPU tricks...

With MFS is Plug & Play !

- The HDR10 option is greyed-out for me.

I've been on Dx12 since I moved to Win 11, and I wonder what would I gain if I reverted to Dx11 ?

- I'm good with:

NVIDIA DLSS + BALANCED

AMD FIDELITYFX SHARPENING = 100 ( What is this ? Never seen this before ?? and while my CPU is AMD, myGPU is a Nvidia 3060 Ti ??? )

V-SYNC = ON

FRAME RATE LIMIT = 50% MONITOR REFRESH RATE ( 30 FPS in my case )

DIRECTX VERSION = DX12(BETA)

MFS is by far the smoothest sim I've used at it's SUPERLATIVE level of detail & graphics quality / scenery realism !

Flight dynamics wise ... that's another story, but still pretty much acceptable with the right add-ons !

Hi, jcomm!

After the last mini update I have this (your settings are more or less the same as I have). Here is the comparison:

NVIDIA DLSS + BALANCED

AMD FIDELITYFX SHARPENING = 100 --> It's a NVIDIA setting. Nothing to do with AMD cards.

V-SYNC = OFF

FRAME RATE LIMIT = 100% MONITOR REFRESH RATE ( 30 FPS in my case ) I've tried other values, but this is working for me.

DIRECTX VERSION = DX12(BETA)

Regards

By the way, I discovered where the HDR setting is: in Details! (But you must have HDR on in your system).

It's greyed out in MSFS menu? Do you have it on in Windows? Settings-Display-HDR

Hmmm, I now recall having searched for it and finding out that my monitor - HP 27o - doesn't even support it ...

No HDR chances for me 🙂

Exactly. Also the way you have configured your monitor(s) has its influence. Myself I use high contrast , low brightness, medium saturation.

Oh hey you lol. Noticed we have more cloud variety now and the Xbox version hasn't blown up? 🙂

5800X3D. 32 GB RAM. 1TB SATA SSD. 3TB HDD. RX  9070XT.

Geforce Experience that installs by default with Nvidia drivers has this HDR setting. You have to point GE to the sims you want to alter on the main GE screen, namely point it to flightsim.exe. Then you activate the filter choices by pressing Alt F3. Vibrancy is under Colors. And HDR Toning is under Details.

Hi Cpt_Piett I installed the reshade and it works great. Thanks! But how do you close the reshade app. Click on the right x nothing happens and I can't find anything else to click on. How do I close it?

Ok I hit the home key! Duh!

It's possible to achieve something similar with ReShade

Well, I read your post and installed ReShade - better results than just GeForce Filters!

To my eyes, you appear to have lost shadow detail. Is that intended or just a byproduct of the added contrast? I’m not sure I would ever know without seeing them together, but the top one looks more realistic to me. The trees in the distance look better and the planes shadow looks more realistic. The warmer color temp in the unprocessed shot also looks more like you’d expect on a hot summer day. I think the sim needs a million issues solved, but for me at least, reshade is not one of them.

Now that looks interesting. You’ve essentially removed a green tint. Where are you making these settings changes? I’ve never seen a HDR level control.

The HDR setting options are in the Nvidia Geforce Experience app which installs with Nvidia video drivers. These settings are not in the MSFS options settings. The settings appear when you type ALT-F3 in MSFS (assuming you have installed Geforce Experience and set Geforece Experience  pointer to MSFS. Geforce Experience options can be pointed to many different games and simulations, not just MSFS.
