It’s also been pointed out that one MAJOR difference between now and then is Microsoft gets incremental Revenue from marketplace sales. 5800X3D, 4090FE, 64GB DDR4 3600C16, Gigabyte X570S MB, EVO 970 M.2's, Alienware 3821DW and 2 22" monitors, Corsair RM1000x PSU, 360MM MSI MEG, MFG Crosswind, T16000M Stick, Boeing TCA Yoke/Throttle, Skalarki MCDU and FCU, Logitech Radio Panel/Switch Panel, Spad.Next

They laid off ~1000 people from a company that has approximately 220,000 employees worldwide. It's really unfortunate for those poor souls who lost their jobs, but it's indicative of absolutely nothing for Flight Sim lol.
October 20, 20223 yr I admit to being a little confuzzled. Isn't msfs 2020 pretty much an Asobo-sourced thing? I pretty much figured that the Microsoft contribution was mostly just funding, Azure back-end, and maybe the Google Maps team, which I don't think is going anywhere..... We are all connected..... To each other, biologically...... To the Earth, chemically...... To the rest of the Universe atomically. October 20, 20223 yr Meanwhile, a friend of mine just accepted a generous job offer at MS. They are doing just fine as a company and likely over-hired last year, as many companies did. One of the "gaming" divisions with cuts was apparently Studio Alpha, a relatively new initiative that focused on wargame simulations for the military. Given the US military's less-than-successful trial of Microsoft's Hololens, I wouldn't be surprised if funding was cut in many of those areas. Also, let's remember that MS was under Ballmer during the Aces years... not exactly Microsoft's best years.

This tells me, that you lack any serious understanding about the system architecture of MSFS. 7 hours ago, hobart escin said: Had they made MSFS2020 a brand new engine altogether with all modern programming tools, we wouldn't be seeing issues that we currently are. And this tells me, that you have not the slightest clue about programming tools.
