Nice love flying the A310

The default ATC sound when flying the A310 is completely broken. I can only hear the pilot and FO. I hope this is in todays fix. Fingers crossed.

That's not unique to the A310. I had the same issue yesterday twice. Once in the 738 and once in the Fenix.

Look Down on the A310 Pedestal Press the Comm 1 VHF button You Should then see Green light Adjacent to the button, Mouse Click to turn the volume up, you should then be able to hear ATC replies just as you would in real life, that should fix your issue, it's quite clever  🙂

For me, the problem appeared in the middle of the flight. I was hearing ATC just fine until then. The volume was up.

Is it just the sound or also the textual messages?
That problem has been there from the beginning, but it happens infrequently. ATC stops communicating, but if let the copilot handle ATC communication you'll hear him reply to ATC messages that are neither listed in the ATC textbox nor heard.

Flightsim rig:
CPU: AMD 5900x  | Mobo: MSI X570 MEG Unify | RAM: 32GB G.Skill Trident Z Neo | GPU: Gigabyte RTX 3090 | Storage: M.2 (2 & 4 TB) | PSU: Corsair RM850x | Case: Fractal Define 7 XL
Display: Acer Predator x34 3440x1440 | Speakers: Logitech Z906
Controllers: Fulcrum One Yoke | MFG Crosswind v2 pedals | Honeycomb Bravo Quadrant |Thrustmaster TCA Quadrant | Stream Deck XL & Plus | TrackIR 5 Tobii eye tracking

I hope they'll fix sim freeze during blue bar loading (even in vanilla state) + annoying pop-up messages in VR about being offline you have to close manually (not nice to crash an airplane during approach or landing because of this).

The new preview update will primarily address issues with online stability, crashes, and the Airbus A310. Full release notes will be provided at release.

This is where I have to give Asobo credit.  They listened and are trying to get something out to address the many issues we found.  Great job.👍

NVIDIA GeForce RTX 4070 Ti Super OC 16GB - Pimax Crystal Light VR

There's also the one where application also doesn't exit properly and needs to be closed from the Task Manager 😥

Good point! I think it is only the sound, text messages seem ok but I'll have a closer look next time.

What I like to know, those who suffer from this are you also using FSLTL?

Why do I ask? The moment it broke forgood was during a very busy night at EDDK (DHL and FedEx? 😉 ) I think it broke because of ATC contacts which didn't complete. I see this happen a lot, a plane gets injected and calls ATC, then the injector deletes the plane because it is out of range or exceeds the maximum... while the plane is still in a conversation with ATC. With both, lots of AI traffic and many FSLTL users this might cause a Azure overload and you get excluded? Just a thought.

Kudos to the team for a quick turnaround, and quite frankly what I expected given their increased focus on release quality a few SUs ago. Given that this 40th anniv release was on a fixed-in-stone date (like SU5) and also given that the new aircraft didn't go thru a public beta at all, they definitely need to be providing timely "bug fixes" updates like these between SUs.. and also good these are going thru the public beta process.

I do use FSLTL but this problem has been with me for a long time, before FSLTL or even AIG and I've had this problem even with default traffic. It's certainly not just the audio that's missing, the messages are also missing in the ATC text window. It often happens on longer flights after an hour or more: it works fine before and then suddenly you stop receiving ATC messages but you can read and hear the replies of the AI traffic and your Co-pilot if you let him handle communication.

It seems to me that the ATC logic still works but that MSFS omits sending it to the user. The AI responds to the logic, not to the communication so AI traffic and virtual co-pilot still reply.

Wonder how long until non beta users will get the update?

My guess is between one and two weeks if there are no problems.  They will want it stable for the Christmas break (hopefully), as I know we will!

Luckily for me, other than the dreaded disconnected / reconnected message, I am not having any issues at all, as I only fly the A310 casually anyway.

I am looking forward to testing the SU12 beta after the Christmas break, as I think it will contain a lot of AI traffic fixes.

I can't wait to see what else they have for us.  Some genuine DX12 performance increases / optimisation would be good, as other titles tend to show this, but not much other than a tiny bit of extra smoothness for me at the moment.  Very welcome, but some titles have shown gains of 25-30% with full DX12 optimisation  Lets face it, there isn't much difference between DX11 and DX12 in the sim at the moment.

I am hoping this update brings back the performance of SU10 (although not specifically mentioned).    This is the worst update since SU5 performance wise for me - stutters all over the place with no changes whatsoever.....

For most users, performance has been the same between SU10 and SU11, unless you use DLSS, which has introduced a massive performance gain for me.

There are a number of issues external to the sim that are causing stuttering at the moment - Debug code in Windows activating accidentally, a rogue Nvidia files... Etc.
These are more likely the cause rather than an inherent fault with the sim.

Ahh, so something in SU11 did cause the disconnect/ reconnect loops. Glad they are on top of this and very keen to get it once out of beta.
