I have not looked at it in detail, but people reported quite a degredation in clarity on the displays. If that is fixed or improved then DLSS will be indeed a good solution. But as long as it comes with a trade off, it is basically a cheat not indicative of the real power of the GPU.

I use TAA100 and I see zero graphical degradation at 4K. Zero. And who really cares if it’s a cheat, as you put it. Seriously who cares? I am quite happy cheating my way to 120 fluid frames per second. Beats fighting for 40-50 frames any day of the week, or any week of the last 30 years! Edited February 1, 20233 yr by Ianrivaldosmith
February 1, 20233 yr Absoluetly, but most reports are positive on FG, as long as you use it with TAA and not with DLSS. But then, for me the most important hesitation factor to get a 4xxx card, for FG you have to use DX12 and I am one of those heavily suffering from the DX12 ground texture bug. So, until this is not fixed, I might wait getting a FG capable GPU... Greetings, Chris AMD Ryzen 7 9800X3D, 2x32GB DDR5 6000MT/s RAM, MSI RTX 4090 Ventus 3X, Windows 11 Home, MSFS2024

Artifacts are pretty minor if and when they occur. The nature of flight sims where most objects are relatively far from the viewer means there is a lot of "frame coherence" meaning the amount of change from one frame to the next is relatively small (as compared to a racing sim for example). This makes it a great candidate for frame interpolation. Everyone's situation is different, but for me the performance jump with these new features is .. to be cliche ... game changing and well worth the money. I also changed my monitor for a Gsync Ultimate and that has eliminated my tearing and allowed me to use HDR when I want it. The combination of the card and the monitor is easily 300%+ improvement in enjoyment.

February 1, 20233 yr I have a kind of on topic question regarding the RTX 4090. I have one on order, and I just wanted to confirm that with the 4090, it is recommended to have HAGS turned ON. Can some current 4090 users confirm or deny this? February 1, 20233 yr I tend to upgrade my GPU quite often over the years, hoping for a substantial improvement in FPS, and always disappointed in the few FPS I'd gain. That is, until now. I've upgraded from a 3080Ti to a 4090 and seen a huge improvement and smoothness in my sim. Was it worth it? For me, absolutely. My sim is now running like I always have dreamed it could. Highly detailed airports, Highly detailed aircraft, Addons like GSX, and FS Traffic. Most settings on high or ultra. That has never been possible before. We are truly in a new era for flight simming. As for the cost, I paid more for my 3080ti then I did for the new 4090. Everyone has their own opinion on value, but for me, it was money well spent on a hobby I love to do.
