A guy on the WBSim discord who is a beta tester said the C172 was much improved with the setting on low. This is a fantastic aircraft, but the turbulence is overdone with these small bugsmashers.

I’m not sure it’s about turbulence sliders and turning turbulence up or down, to me the issue is how the aircraft pivots around a central point in turbulence resulting in an odd tail yawing, almost like someone is activating the rudder.

The issue to me with turbulence isn’t the intensity but how the turbulence actually influences the aircraft.

Just did a flight into Jersey form Gatwick with the Fenix and I have noticed a big difference in the turbulence when set to LOW.

Its great for me after just one flight, guess I will try it out more. For me the less turbulence the better.

FSreborn's Sting fixed that with tuning on the intertia parameters and rudder impact and its behaving a lot better now. So for me the slider is more a cosmetic that indeed doesn't fix the error behind, sadly.

My experience (I'm in the BETA):

Started MSFS and the beta installed. At that point MSFS will not boot up anymore. It crashes 15 seconds into the loading screen.

Next I removed everything in Community with addon linker: did not help MSFS still would not boot.

So next I uninstalled the BETA and then MSFS booted and plays just fine.

But, as other here have reported, some BETA users have the same issue as I, and some BETA users don't have this  issue at all.

NOTE: to uninstall the beta in Steam version: right click the Steam logo ion the windows taskbar, select library, and then look in the library submenus for betas and select NONE.

The New Zealand WU is tomorrow I think.

Ok on my side at least the Milviz/blackbird Corsair seems to lead to CTD on sim load. But as we have learned from older Betas even that can be user specific.

Thanks Torsen. I have the Corsair but it was in community, not official. And even after moving everything out of community MSFS still  would not boot. So it probably is some other plane giving me issues (which is indeed in the official folder).

Caution with the Beta if you want to fly your PMDG 737: the parking brake doesn't disengage!

Other than that, I haven't seen any major issues from the forum posts yet, so I might take the risk and install it tonight. The 737 has been my go-to airliner for a long time, so this might be a good time to get back into the Fenix, or learn the BAe 146 which I've flown only once or twice or the iniBuilds A310...

Edit: Anyway, I have a recent backup of the install folder including community folder, so I can roll back easily without much effort. Highly recommended before installing a beta!

For me the Justflight collection leading to ctd too. BAe, Hawk and Pipers. Same as last time btw.

Errrr... many of us using msfs perfectly fine in DX11 without any problems. And a lot still not willing or even able to spend a fortune on a fancy new GPU with a lot of vram that would run DX12. If you are having issues with DX11 I would search on your setup as a first step and not wait for DX12. That will be a long waiting time then cause the prio is quite low. Personally I don't get the hype about the frame generation especially in a civil flightsim. Except you are in VR.

Many of us use msfs perfectly fine in DX11 and there is absolutely nothing wrong with our setup but the sim runs in a far superior fashion with DX12 due to the limitations that DX11 imposes but we can't use DX12 because of the disappearing airport ground textures issue.

I have been quite patient regarding this problem but to not see it addressed, yet again, is quite frustrating. After extensive testing of both I am fully aware that a superior experience is just one issue away from being solved and therefore fingertips from my grasp. Not that I would or need to use it at this particular time but FSR2 can't be used without DX12 and for Nvidia users DLSS isn't available without it either but even without those it offers a much better experience. The performance on the ground is night and day different with DX12 on my machine with the well documented micro stutter when looking around and at a given direction completely removed. As a TrackIR user the fluidity of DX12 sticks out like a fluorescent fart.

For some rigs and setups DX12 is a game changer. It really should be a priority issue.

5800X3D - Strix X570-E - 32GB 3600Mhz DDR4 - AMD RX 9070 XT- Samsung 980 Pro x2

I agree that this should get a higher priority. Especially due to the fact that Asobo/MS promoted hard the Nvidia 4000 series and the 'double FPS' achievable using DLSS 3.0 and frame generation. But this has a dependency on DX12, and if DX12 having such issue, I can understand people who purchased the high end card frustration...
