1.31.18.0 Beta is out?

Featured Replies

Just flown in the TBM - Innsbruck to Samedan in the new beta.

Everything seems to be working as normal - very smooth ~50 fps most of the way with i7 11700k @5GHz, GTX1080Ti OC @2k res, 32Gb RAM, Win 10, DX12. Most settings ULTRA or HIGH, LOD 200. Loads of plane, scenery and livery add-ons via Addon Linker, none of which I had to remove. FSTL AI traffic works absolutely fine.

Area around Innsbruck could be quite problematic for me at one time, now the scenery looks as it should do - i.e. truly spectacular. TBM flew very well, no noticeable glitches, errors or stutters. So this has been a real pleasure so far.

Still much testing to do of course, but pleased (and relieved) so far - stopped holding breath...

sure, if you consider 40% fps increase "useless"

"dangerous half knowledge here... "

extremely dangerous. especially when so many have praised their RTX 4090 experience and you make comments about it without owning one yourself.

60-130 fps. no CPU overclocking.

very nice.

its useless if you like to fly with fps drops to 20 while paning and using TrackIR/Tobii Eye Tracker... i like to have the 40fps in this case and no stuttering

After reading some posts here I was expecting my sim to crash after installing this, but fortunately had no problem. Didn't have to disable anything in the community folder. All good here, it seems.

Hahahaha... my neighbor is praising his Volvo... its 8 years younger than my old Nisssan and prob more than 40% faster... literally I don't care as mine is doing essentially the same in the daily business but yes it will be for sure less convinient in some rarer situations. And your 40% increase in FPS comes at a price with lower quality so depending on your screen and resolution it won't always be the best option at all.

One question out of curiosity? Have you ever tried to tweak your sim without actually taking a look at the fps counter? It may sound arkward for a lot of people here but yes its possible. Due to technically restrictions I'm bound to a smaller screen with a native 1080p resolution. Using trackir and even the Fenix here I have a mostly stutterfree experience even on an old RX 5700 XT. Sure I can't do full traffic when going into a major hub as paired with an older CPU in addition but otherwise I'm quite happy. So its a lot about managing expectations and subjective experience.

So if you have 100 fps already and need 140 fps. Have fun. I'm enjoying my flights but can't tell you my fps. 😉

Cheers T.

Caution with the Beta if you want to fly your PMDG 737: the parking brake doesn't disengage!

Thanks.  I noticed this last night and was going to try to fix it today. You just saved me from wasting a bunch of time.

i9-10850K, ASUS TUF GAMING Z490-PLUS (WI-FI), 32GB G.SKILL DDR4-3603 / PC4-28800, GIGABYTE RTX5080 16GB WF OC 3 FAN running 3440x1440

Trying to track down what mod was crashing the sim, looks like it is about justflight arrows.

As soon as i removed them from community folder, sim launches again. Now goind to add the other ones to see if there's something else too.

Do you think this is nice

Microsoft Flight Simulator 11.02.2023 15_34_22

This is how LGRP looks in my SIM and other Airports all the time for month now.

I have to use DX12 because of Frame Generation, without it the Game runs like shi*

So please vote here to finaly get asobo to work on a fix, this is really bad customer Support.

You and @AnkH are completely missing my point. He was ranting about the issue persisting after 12 Sim updates and 2 years of the sim being out. I simply pointed out that DX12 has not existed in the sim from day one. In other words, it isn't 12 sim updates old so it makes no sense ranting about it like it is. The problem isn't as old as he is suggesting.

Same here. List so far crashing the sim is:

Blackbird Corsair

Justflight Pipers (All Arrows and Warrior) plus Hawk and BAe146

Funny enough, I did a flight last night in the 146 from the big island to Honolulu. The weather was FANTASTIC! I took so many screenshots lol and no  CTD in sight. I guess I'm just lucky.

It was the same last SU. Its not totally consistent for all users. Whatever is driving the problem.

Heck, I just got a "mere" 4070, and am flying around in many areas with 100FPS or more, without even turning on frame generation!

(By the way, no issues, so far, with the new Beta)

Orbx Flow is not working for me.  Thanks for the tip about Justflight - I will add everything back in except for those and see what happens.

Flow completely or parts of it? I did only basic test with flow but it was working on my end.
