February 28, 20233 yr Haven't seen VR benchmarks. But I believe my 4090 in VR is very much limited by 10850K, so hope 7950x3D will make a big improvement. I use HP Reverb G2. 9950X3D / 64GB / RTX5090 / Pimax Crystal Light / Win11

February 28, 20233 yr These cpu's have very good performance for msfs 2020. In a several years capable 4k graphic cards will be standart so this cpu will show their real performance at 4k too. I have 10700k and 4090, this ring is very cpu limited, at 4k, cpu is at 20 ms and gpu is 10 ms. So time to upgrade for cpu. Edited February 28, 20233 yr by spitzer45 C. Uygar Aircraft Maint. February 28, 20233 yr I am not impressed. I have tried AMD CPU's and video Cards over intel and NVidia. My personal opinion AMD is just too buggy. Ryzen has certainly pushed intel to come up with much better products, but AMD just wasn't for me. The higher resolution, The worse AMD seems to get.

But that's true of all cpu's, the higher the res, the more gpu-bound the situation becomes. 4K flattens the differences. But smoothness is more important than raw fps for us. Headroom for add-ons, and smoothness are desired goals with any cpu for us. As @Zangoose notes, it's also possible to have AMD + nvidia which may shape up to be a nice setup for MSFS, at least for the next 6-8 months (until the next great thing comes along). March 1, 20233 yr Futureproof... funny word... At the end of the year when Intel rolls out the 14th gen clamming a 40% increase in performance or AMD early next year, we'll meet again in a new topic about how great is a 5% - 7% increase in fps @ 4k... 😆 At the rate prices are spiraling up maybe the 14th gen (K, KF,KS) and Ryzen will be around $1000...
