SU12 preventive maintenance.

Recommended Posts

Hello,

What would be normal preventive measures for safe SU12 upgrade, if I have PDMG/Fenix, GSX, AIG/OCI and roughly 35 sceneries? Do I have to do anything, such as backing up Content Folder? Would appreciate any suggestions.

You don't have to do anything. I went into the beta without doing anything and it worked fine.

Updates don't touch anything in the community folder.

It's always a good idea to have current backups no matter what's coming up.

I think the paranoia of early updates has long past. Now just click yeah, yeah, whatever, update. Sit back and have a drink. 🍺

I take it there will be a Jack Daniels one then!

Call me Bob or Rob, I don't mind, but I prefer Rob.

I like to trick airline passengers into thinking I have my own swimming pool in my back yard by painting a large blue rectangle on my patio.

Er...No. I can't cope with the mush of those Asobo textures and no, I can't be having with the monstrosity that is Blender.

I know what you mean...I'm trying to figure it out myself.  I've finally opened the bonanza model file in blender hehe.  Baby steps

Only as a troubleshooting step if the sim doesn't load after the update.

Based on the early update performance from the developers, the paranoia was certainly understandable.  And if I recall - so was the need for drink. 🍺 😏

I always unselect everything in Addons Linker before running the update. But more because this helps speeding up the update process due to less addons being loaded. All addons installed using an installer remain untouched. Always worked using this approach...
