TWITCH MSFS Development Livestream

I just want to say that in the stream now, the way Microsoft/Asobo is tracking all the crashes, while generating a nice chart to show the different types of crashes and percentage of it, I get the feeling that they are very, very, organized.

I think this is why MSFS is advancing so fast, and yet the stability given the rate that it is advancing, is pretty reasonable (MSFS's stability is far from perfect, but it is reasonable, given the amount of changes each Sim Update comes with).  At the rate of MSFS's advances, the gap between MSFS and the rest of the field will only grow larger, IMO. Bravo Microsoft/Asobo, bravo.

One thing this has shown me is just how complex and multidimensional developing something like MSFS really is.  Looking at the release notes for SU12 I was struck by how much work went towards areas I really am not very involved in, so much work in so many areas.  I'm still hoping/waiting for major focus on ATC, cloud depiction and exploiting the ever-improving hardware capabilities better than we see now, and I would love to see really trick shader-based seasonal vegetation changes linked to geolocation w/ elevation and time of year.  That in itself would probably be a massive undertaking unless someone else has already done it.  So these updates don't really change much of anything for me quite often, the SU's that is.  I know they have over time, but I'm really hoping for focused work on those big key areas as the rest is already great and improving.

I asked myself, if they might have this in mind with the "Surprise" announced for SU13. Perhaps one can dream...

Kind regards, Michael

Indeed! The seasons item has been shown as "Started" in the development snapshot since last year, so would not be surprising if it drops this year. In any case, surprises are fun and there's two more to go this year per their roadmap :)

Funny to notice that there's "more" crash during gameplay with the Microsoft Store version than with the Steam version. On the other hand, there's more chance to crash with the Steam version than the MS Store during the boot/launch 😉

Check my free MSFS sceneries : https://flightsim.to/profile/vbazillio/trending and my hardware configuration.

Seeing the ATR cockpit was quite a shock. I owned Hans' excellent ATR 72 in FS9 and FSX and of course it was all analogue. Now the 600 has a completely modern glass cockpit and I had not seen it before. I'm not oposed to it, I just was not expecting it.

In the world update section they also mentioned that they did a lot of engine work so the north and south poles don't look so messy. Projecting stuff onto the top and bottom of a sphere isn't easy.

Oceania has my vote! Along with Australia and SE Asia, it's very much my simming region of the world.

Surely not everybody was kung fu fighting.

If SU13 is planned for August there's quite a gap betweens WU13 in April and that.

Was they any mention of AAU2 or WU14 to fit in that hole ?

World Update in May, City Update and AAU in June, City Update in July

April.

So how about getting air pressure in millibar where needed? Or will they stick to the solely use of inches mercury indefinitely? How come MSFS has this so wrong when every other (past) sim got it right? SU12 and counting and no mention of this immersion breaking nonsense.

Cheers, Bert
