May 20, 20233 yr Let's face it, most people don't want a job, we only want salary. Just get rid of capitalism and we are ready for the AI future.

I have to say I never had a job I didn't like and I looked forward to going to work each morning. When I was out of work and looking for a job I would choose a job that paid less money but looked like it would be more fun. I never had a lifetime career. I did many different things, My first job when I was in high school was working for a garage where I learned how to tune engines and change oil and lube the joints, The summer I graduated from high school I worked on a white pine blister rust control team in Glacier National Park in Montana. Next came the Marine Corps where I began as a munitions specialist and then explosive ordnance disposal (EOD). I got out of the Marine Corps and worked as a file clerk in the claims department of the Southern Pacific Railroad in San Francisco. It was then I learned to fly in a Luscombe 8E on floats. I missed military life and I wanted to work on airplanes so I joined the Air Force and again became a munitions specialist and later an armament specialist. I cross trained into a special electronics field and became a seismologist. I got out of the Air Force and worked as an electronic technician and eventually became a non-degreed electronic development engineer. Then I joined the Colorado Air National Guard and became a weather forecaster. Along the way I became a published writer and nature photographer. After retirement I volunteered at our local wildlife refuge for about 8 years. I loved working and I loved all my jobs. And they all supported my love of the outdoors hunting and fly fishing and hiking and backpacking. And they also supported my recreational flying in Cessna 172s, Piper Cherokees, Mooneys and a Piper Aztec, I never got bored. I never got rich in wealth but I was wealthy in job satisfaction. I realize some people don't want to work. I feel sorry for them. I don't buy the argument that most people don't want to work. I only wish I were young enough to continue working. Presently I am retired and get paid for doing nothing. I would much rather be working. Noel The tires are worn. The shocks are shot. The steering is wobbly. But the engine still runs fine.
May 20, 20233 yr I think that we should let the robots do all the work and pay taxes so that we humans can have a universal basic income and spend our days in lazy, leisurely comfort. An AI government system, like Dr. Theopolis in Buck Rogers, will make most of our major decisions for us, without emotion and bias, and administer all the resources and welfare equitably. What a wonderful world it will be, so wonderful, in fact, that I'm hopeful that I won't be around to experience it. May 25, 20233 yr If I can just get AI to do my emails for me that's the only use I would have for it, It will also continue to improve our Flight Sim World adding further realism, beyond that I'm not bothered by it I don't see it as a threat, its like Y2K fears all over again 🤣 Matthew Kane I'm Dyslexic, what's an error to you is not to me
May 26, 20233 yr Forget AI. Get ready for AGI... Artificial General Intelligence. The real deal. 😮 Get ready to obey your Cylon overlords. Here's one below, her/its name is Number 6. I am ready and willing to obey her every command. 👍 I'm not so keen on this one though... Edited May 26, 20233 yr by martin-w
