Wish they would not focus on bring animated people to much

Ah, the famous animated people. We were doing a *exhibition* and the reality of it, is hundred of people passing through boots with only few seconds to catch their attention, and of course it worked, and everybody loved it, with not a single person who visited us at the FxExpo suggesting we should do something else instead, but rather realizing it was something sorely missing to complement their fancy planes with fully modeled (empty) cabins.

Just because this is what we showed at the Expo, doesn't mean is the only thing we are working on. As an example, the latest update we posted a couple of days ago, it's the exact opposite of eye-candy, it's a very hard-core feature geared to the most accuracy-freaks profile creators (their profiles will obviously benefit thousands of users), which will make all airports much easier to use, and more accurate.

Hi Umberto, now that you talk about it, will be there an option to disable it? As you explained, there are several people that loved this feature, but some other people that would prefer not to have it (as some of us wrote here).

I liked GSX in the FSX days very much, the reason why I started this topic is just to make sure that the pushback is working properly (also custom pushbacks). If that is buggy, I can stay with the freeware options. Animated Jetways are nice but not important to me in the first place, since I don't need them for operations. Will GSX Pro be supported for MSFS 2024?

applying correct pushbacks. That would be the main reason for me to buy it

If pushback is all you need, take a look at the free pushback helper.  Works great with the fenix (and all other planes)

Virtually has given you the answer, but no it's not only in your community folder....

It's not in the Community folder at all, except 2 Symbolic links. So it does already what users use the Addon Linker for, to convert other addons to this method.

It's installed only into its own folder, and that's it. Strictly speaking, we shouldn't consider the extra things in %APPDATA% folder as part of the installation, because those are your custom Preferences, like airport or airplane profiles you modified or downloaded which are not touched by the installation, so it's correct they should be separate from the main installation, and it's correct they should be located there. Each and every other proper Windows app works like that: an install folder and a preferences folder in %APPDATA% or %LOCALAPPDATA%.

So, the "installs all over your computer", really boils down to a single main install folder, a preference folder and one registry entry with a few extra preferences, that's it.

In fact, it's rather an opt-in feature: they will be DISABLED BY DEFAULT, and you'll have to run a separate utility to decide in which airplanes they will appear.

Wow, I didn't expect that. Thank you very much! 😁

The pushback is surely working with no issues, *especially* when it's customized.

The feature that might sometimes have issues, usually caused by either issues in scenery, or some specific parking positions that would be tricky even in real life, is the automatic pushback. This usually works 90% of the time, and for those extra cases, Customization enters into play and that will always work. The automatic pushback is the thing unique to GSX, but so is the customization options and the profiles.

I really suggest you to check the vast collection of custom airport profiles on flightsim.to (just search for "GSX" ), there's a big community of profile creators, we are in constant contact with (they have a Discord channel with hundreds of users), them and try to follow their efforts with new features they can add to the profiles being shared.

Some profiles have hundreds of custom pushback routes. In our last scenery (KIAH), we have over 1500 custom pushback routes, because you can save many of them for a single parking.

Sounds great - Can we also assume you can put a percentage of folks in the cabin as well ?

I'd give GSX Pro a 6.5/10. When it works, I totally love it. However, it has some features that really annoy me. Dislaimer: the last time I looked into these problems was a few months ago. Umberto, if you already addressed any of these points, I would love to learn about it. Here are my issues with this otherwise great program.

1) Customization of flight crew number. There are Lvars with which one can control the number of pilots and crew for third-party developers, but the last time I tried, I was unable to set these numbers for a specific airplane. It really kills the immersion if 2 pilots and 4 crew board a BN-2 Islander, and you cannot do anything about it. Why can these values not be set in the airplane configuration file?

2) Customization of walking points. 6 months ago, I tried very hard to make passengers walk from the terminal to a small airplane. I failed despite numerous attempts, the editor never started pax and crew properly, and often they just launched vertically upwards. After that, I gave up on customizing airports.

3) Customizing small airplanes. GSX Pro works great with commercial jets, but I found the results with small airplanes like the Islander or the Cessna 310 underwhelming. I always found that boarding passengers makes most sense when they have to walk across the apron. I don't care whether pax walk through a jetway where I don't see them; it is kind of ironic that GSX performs poorly just for airplanes where the boarding process is visible.

GSX Pro was the addon I was most looking forward to. I loved GSX in FSX/P3D and was planning to make GSX Pro a cornerstone in my MSFS experience as well. Instead, I only use it occasionally - only when I fly jets, and when I have enough time for the boarding process to complete.

This definitely works. I mean, there are hundreds of profiles on flightsim.to with WALK-IN gates. I even did it for myself once.

For transparency: I'm a community mentor at the BATC discord. However, I do not get paid for it in any way.

Thanks. I will try that again then 🙂

Im on the fence of buying gsx pro.

But im feared in the time to obtain all the gsx profiles for my installed airports (or check of some of of them already have one).

I have a List of them, payware, free ones and the asobo ones, about ~220 Airports.

It looks like, i have to obtain the right gsx profile for the specific version of the airport.

For example, a Profile for the Simwings Lepa wont work with the justsim Lepa Airport?

No need to download profiles for all of them at once. Just quickly install a profile each time you intend to fly in- or out of said airport and then slowly build up your library of profiles.
