A2A Comanche has been released!

Regarding turbulence i have it at Realistic and at 20% in the Comanche. Did a KRNT -CYVR yesterday and it was quite turbulent. Also felt some stutters but suspecting rhe Canada WU and Samscene.

Do you disable the Canada WU?

Thanks Michael Moe

Over on the A2A forums I believe the devs have recommended to use Realistic in MSFS and keep the Accusim setting at default (in the middle) or maybe even a notch higher.

I have the settings at Realistic and default respectively. In strong winds and turbulence the Comanche does get tossed around but it is in a completely different way than in the native sim. I can trim the plane and even with some turbulence it remains OK… that would usually never happen without Accusim. The JF Arrow for example is often all over the place in turbulence.

For me up and down drafts or thermals also seem better behaved with Accusim and gone are the exaggerated roller coaster rides.

I have stutters too, but not because of Accusim. Generally the performance with Accusim has completely surprised me… as good as or better than equivalent native planes.

The only niggle is that when MSFS stutters I experience what seems to be a glitch via SimConnect to Accusim and the Comanche has to ‘catch up’. It manifests as a small bump almost resembling turbulence. There’s plenty discussion in the A2A forums that.

Yeah noticed that "bump" also.  Did a small flight CYVR-CYCW today which was better overall. Only problem was my speed to high on approach. 130 is not going well.

The trim is also way better than any MSFS addons.

A lilttle techniq question.

My Alpha Yoke keeps starter in when switching to both ignitor and stays in the whole time. Any solutions?

Also cant get the power on?

The tow bar is a mysterie here. Need to find some insight to it.

Thanks Michael Moe

Unfortunately I don’t have an Alpha so can’t suggest anything there. Did you have a look on the A2A forums - my bet is it is already discussed/addressed there. The A2A guys are also quite active on Discord so easy to get help there.

The tow bar is actually a stroke of genius. You just press the big T on the tablet and you are transported to the front of the plane. Then you can push and pull and steer the plane with your main controller… in your case the Alpha. Works really well for me.

Regarding power, what exactly do you mean?

It's found in the 'Advanced' options on the Controls page of the tablet in the cockpit, the middle of the slider is the default setting

I had to map LVARs directly to the switches using SPAD.next to get them to work properly with my Alpha.

For the Master Battery switch, I mapped my button on and button off events to "LVAR:BATTERY1SWITCH" (setting it to "1" and "0" as appropriate)

For the magneto switch,

I mapped the "Both" position to the "MAGNETO_BOTH" event and also set the "LVAR:ENG1_STARTERSWITCH" to "0" to release the starter switch. And the "Start" position, I mapped to set "LVAR:ENG1_STARTERSWITCH" to "1".

If you aren't using SPAD.next or Axes & Ohs or somesuch, I believe you could achieve the same thing using the Honeycomb profile editor.

Just flew, in the Comanche, a short flight over Croatia at 6000 feet MSL. Relatively close to the ground then, summer heat over hills and forests, wind at 5 kt gusting at  9, it was quite bumpy all the way.

I was stunned how realistic was the feeling. Not overdone. Not even comparing to P3D which has very unconvincing turbulence effects but even with other MSFS aircraft I own. The addition of Asobo and A2A  turb' programming is something to behold. I finished the flight hand flying an ILS in this bumpy air. Concentration was in order. I had also a failing cylinder but this is another story 😃.

Been having a lot of fun with this gem. Unfortunately, my sim is getting plagued by CTD's regardless of plane, location, addon etc. So even for those short 40 minute flights are still fun with this.

Bought it yesterday !

I just got the time for a small circuit around LPCS, but it was sufficient to make me feel really happy about having spent a bit more than usual in an MFS addon...

GA aren't my focus in desktop flight simulators, because I really use these addictive programs to support my failed dreams of becoming an airline pilot, but heck! this Comanche is really well done...

I should say that I also own the Carenado V35B and really like it too !!!

Have a LOT to test, specially the engine modelling, failures, etc....

I found it strange that on finals, fully set for landing, a deep sideslip doesn't increase the descent rate substantially, but maybe that's a characteristic of the Comanche ?  Well, I'm accustomed to my gliders that all of them really drop like a rock under such circumstances 🙂

And... having posted at A2A's forum on this subject, Scott promptly replied and, as I expected, it's indeed characteristic of the real Comanche !

v1.1 update released: https://a2asimulations.com/2023/07/28/561963/

Just over a week ago we released the Accu-Sim Comanche 250 for Microsoft Flight Simulator and in the days since, the team here at A2A have been overwhelmed by the positive response from our customers. We always thought we had something pretty special on our hands with Accu-Sim 2.0, and it’s been hugely rewarding to finally share this new technology with the community.

However, we haven’t been resting, and today we’re happy to release version 1.1 of the Comanche with the following list of improvements and fixes.

For this initial update, you will need to redownload the installer from your account on the A2A Simulations website. No need to uninstall the previous version as the installer will take care of this. And don’t worry, any accumulated airframe or engine hours won’t be lost.

<go to their link above for the large list of fixes/enhancements>

To everyone who has purchased the Comanche, we’d just like to finish by saying ‘thank you’.
