XP12.06b1 is out

When you say excess rain, are we talking about the visible rain when you quickly move up in the outside view, where there's constantly rain bands even when it's not raining or actual physical, also seen on windshield, even when it shouldn't be raining?

But outside that, hopefully the black flashing is being fixed at some point, it's driving me nuts.

X-Plane is just a completely different beast when it comes to physics, especially during take-off and landing. In other sims, you could make plenty of mistakes and still safely land / get off the ground but here, miscalculate your CG, weight or botch your procedures and you will be punished for it. Really makes you pay attention, which I love.

I wish XP were even more unforgiving than it is now. For example landing gear and tires should probably be easier to damage than they are now when stressed, e.g. on a hard landing.

Although such a level of realism can be reasonably left to 3rd parties.

Could be a good incentive for a simple FlyWithLua or xlua script. "If touchdown vertical speed is greater than n m/s, break the gear or tire that had ground contact first." On the other hand, even a very hard landing in an airliner will not necessarily break the gear (unless there is considerbale side force), but rather the airframe (gear attachments, fuselage structure, or else).

and then, after un-pausing x-plane12 beta 6.02 after a 2 hours lunch break, this again again.

So, let me get this straight: you took a 2 HOUR LUNCH BREAK with your VR sim paused and you're surprised it barfed on you? LoL!!!

And you (semi-correctlly) deduce that it's really more the VR headset that caused the issue instead of the sim, and you still blame the SIM? LMAO!!!!

If you were at all serious you'd never hit pause and would eat "in the cockpit" so to speak. Go ahead, it's okay to make a sandwich while the plane flies itself.

One thing I really enjoy about xplane.

Is at least 90% of the bugs people find are bad things that would happen IRL if you did the same thing.

This is one of the core mechanisms of X-Plane making aviation more accessible and safer every day for everyone.

I just wish it wouldn't turn into a food fight every time.

Lets do a proper approach (no pun intended) since the offender did provide photographic evidence.

From the above pic.

2. The pilot landed the plane, put reverse thrusters on at full power for too long  and there fore reversed off the runway, which would explain the offset and the plane on its butt.

This would come down to, stupidity, bad piloting skills, deliberate, or all of the above.

Either way all he has done is prove how realistic Xplane is.

In re 2 above, just think how LONG he'd have to be in reverse after a proper landing to even end up "short" of the runway - somewhere between .75 - 1.0 mile!

however long doesn't matter, I do the same in MSFS and it hasn't crashed once due to any pause. perhaps Laminar just haven't run into this and therefore not figured it out. yet.

I was here trying to investigate and be helpful analysing a rare, possible problem with x-plane in connection with WMR, it seems you are not capable to appreciate/understand that.

Was brought up elsewhere, raining when it shouldnt, noticed if myself. But it looks and sounds good

Again, perhaps some links to those posts that say XP12 is 'perfect'.

Do we speak the same english?

It's just a guess, but do you live with @turbomax?  I'm finding it difficult to decide which one is posting.

So more paying Laminar customers have the same opinion. Interesting. And worrying.

I speak PEnglish, a mix of Portuguese and English :-)

I don't think, not even by far, X-Plane has ever been perfect, and XP12 is surely not the exception, BUT ! , X-Plane has always (demo only until XP8, as a buyer starting XP8) my fall-back sim when I'm tired of closing my eyes to not so good aerodynamics and feel of flight...

XP12 is surely superior to MFS 2020 in terms of feel of flight, and many times I have to accept it's other limitations to be able to taste the best it does - simulating FLIGHT !

That's why you try to reproduce it, note the steps that got you to the problem, take that and all other relevant information you can scrape together, along with your Log.txt, to Laminar's bug reporter.

I honestly really hate reporting bugs to Laminar because their bug report form is straight from the early century and should be retired yesterday for something up-to-date, but, it's the only way to actually report problems directly to the source!

So please be like me, swallow the hate for a few minutes and report. Even if it's going to sit on the pile of unhandled reports for a long time because Laminar is critically understaffed in the mail sorting department. Forget about that and just report. It's the only chance that a bug has an actual chance of getting fixed eventually! Report!

The black flashes I mentioned experiencing with 06b2 are exactly like the ones described in the bellow link from a thread at the .Org 😕

I already reinstalled the Nvidia drivers, and it's really very annoying 😕
