Seriously a robot? I mean an aircraft is already a flying computer these days, but instead of an autonomous aircraft you build a multi million dollar robot to flip switches?

For transparency: I'm a community mentor at the BATC discord. However, I do not get paid for it in any way.

Looking forward to

Welcome aboard, I am your pilot, I am a robot.  How are you doing so far.

Oops it appears that a foreign power has hacked my systems and has told me to crash this plane.  Hang on, it should be a hell of a ride.

We continue to do stuff on this planet only because we can not because it makes any sense.

cheers.

I've always wondered where the line will be drawn (if any ever is) with automation of jobs. Do we just stop at the transportation industry or do we automate entertainment too? Will we ever see AI politicians? CEO's? Doctors?

Obviously the goal of automation is to enhance safety, efficiency, and provide a need; But I can't help but feel like one of our needs is to be needed. That's something you can't automate.

Take-offs are optional, landings are mandatory.
The only time you have too much fuel is when you're on fire.
To make a small fortune in aviation you must start with a large fortune.

There's nothing less important than the runway behind you and the altitude above you.
It's better to be on the ground wishing you were in the air, than in the air wishing you were on the ground.

I have no plans to ever board a plane without a human pilot on board.

Cheers, Pete

Jokes aside, including my own, another reason for needing fewer pilots: fewer planes in the air due to fuel restrictions. These restrictions being a serious problem.

I will ALWAYS push back and fight against this word not allowed. Autopilot is enough automation. Straight up replacing pilots?? No.

I call BS. My motor skills are a billion times better than that thing. And they are now probably only half as good as they used to be. If not worse🤪

No issue with this and would happily fly this way. Same goes for trains which we already have.
