- Ground physics

- Turbulence

- Weather (Clouds, WX Radar capability, parts of the wing disappearing as you fly through clouds or fog, etc.)

- Atmospheric and Sky colors. X-Plane's recent updates in this department look fantastic.

- Improved LOD. Ever since some Sim Updates, Austin's "MSFS looks like a melted wastelands" comments have gained some validity

- The ability to reload textures in-sim, similar to X-Plane

- More immersive effects. I understand that this is already possible, but doesn't seem to be properly utilized aside for a few airplanes here and there.

- Harry Potter Nimbus - 2000

- Baby Shark

- Barbie as a pilot avatar option

- secret volcano spy bases

I have a realsimgear Garmin stack, and I would really love it if they finished off coding the keypads for the Garmin interface so it can be implemented, maybe the NXi guys could do it who knows, but its really nice to use in Xplane 11, and a shame that its no here in FS2020 yet

AME GE90, GP7200 CFM56

Proper snow coverage, no frozen lakes and sea in mid summer. Frozen sea and lakes only in areas well below freezing in winter. No hard wired connection between snow and frozen sea/ lakes.

Convincing cirrus and stratus cloud, scary thunderstorms and turbulence.

otherwise not a lot

This is my personal wish-list (not related to FSX but in general)

- Better ground physics
- simulation of inertia
- better flight behaviour
- more realistic Runway-lights (approach lights etc.)
- better default airports
- turbulences in stormy weather / clouds like TCU's or CB's and also simple Cumulus
- more and/or better cloud variations
- better atmosphere lighting and better colour for clouds (too grey'ish now)
- better replay-tool
- no lens-distortion in external view (never got rid of it)
- proper popout-screens
- seasons
- no blurry ground textures building up
- no melted photogrammetry-buildings (pyramid-looking from far away etc.)
- no frozen lakes eveywhere
- no snow in valley in summer when it's 20 degrees or more
- more accurate turbulences (now: seems exaggerated, depends on aircrafts etc.)
- effects of melting or building up snow over the time. Same with rain (dynamic)
- no mandatory updates of the software itself
- Fly-bye cam, Tower-view and no limited zoom
- no blocking of aircrafts-steerings when looking around with the mouse at the same time
- easier to install (no MS store or XBox-app, that is sometimes confusing)
- better matching of metars
- being able to load another livery without having to go back to the start-menu-screen and set-up an entire new-flight
- a proper map-option that also shows where precipitations is
- weather-radar
- simulation of density-altitude (that can lead to crashing into terrain during very cold weather if not taken into account, like i've learned during my PPL-school)

For the 25th time: there IS a very capable replay system in MSFS. It was not present at launch, but it was added almost two years ago. This replay system -- that has long-since been accessible in MSFS -- is the same built-in software that Asobo uses to generate their always-impressive trailers. You just need to enable the replay system and move it to the default dropdown menu.

Thanks for the reminder. It is still experimental though and needs to be enabled after every start of MSFS, at least in my case. In FSX, the replay was always there when you wanted it.

A few other things that were in FSX but not in MSFS:

  • Working AI around airports. In FSX it was fun to be a virtual planespotter. In MSFS, aircraft behave so weird that it is sometimes ridiculous.
  • secondary windows with other views of your aircraft, other aircraft.

It would be nice to have working in MSFS but I would not go back to FSX for it.

I'd like the sim to keep focus when you go to another screen for a second or even use the drone camera. You can't really use the drone on the ground without losing maneuvering from your flight stick, rudders, etc.

Agree, I think you can press shift or C or something else (who knows)  while in drone to control the airplane, but you can't control drone and plane at the same time. FSX and P3D had a better implimintation which is absurd.

In addition to what others have said, I'd still have to see the camera system/controls revamped, the ghosting repaired, and the missing jetway connector bug (which bothers me to no end) fixed.

My #1 feature missing in MSFS is save/restore flight.  I'm always surprised that this seems a non-issue.  I guess that I'm just not hardcore enough about immersion to always, in a contiguous time span, complete a flight that I've started.

I don't and won't claim to speak for the devs or development team, but I imagine saying "better" doesn't help much, unless you explain what it is you're looking for.  That being said, if a person were to respond with "mor realistic," I would again ask, in what way?  Are you able to explain what you mean?

Yes, pressing c switches you from the mode that allows you to position your camera to the mode where you can control the aircraft.

I don't think it was the purpose of the thread to deliver a detailed explanation for each wish/issue and it wasn't meant as a bug-reporter to Asobo. And most of these points are known since long, like for example the bad ground-physics. It's also based on what older or other simulators could do or can. For example a better replay-tool means a more intuitive one: starting the replay after the flight and that's it. No need to activate it inside the developper-mode and set it up before the landing etc. Same with metars; that's a well known topic if you follow the MSFS-forum. The sky colours as well; there is a thread here about that possible improvement. And so on.

It's a list too long to post. Everthing from erratic AI behavior , to ATC, to UI issues, to heavily pixelated clouds that morph wierdly, to graphical issues with the ghosting on trailing edges against a cloudy background, to unrealistic wind and ground effect physics, to the stupid water masks that cover the photogrametry, to the over abundance of trees that all look the same and are the wrong type...   It's better to just enjoy it for what it is.
