Hooray, the nay sayers were proven wrong. we will soon see a quick official interim fix of the current atmospheric scattering scheme in MSFS 2020, and a much better, more complete overhaul in MSFS 2024.

praise to user Biology who caused this avalanche, without whom this would not have made it into MSFS 2020 so quickly if at all, and praise to Asobo for a much better overall implementation in MSFS 2024!

 

 

 

Here is the video of what they said. And it's the same as I said. I also don't hear them saying it will come in SU14 as many here are assuming. It's possible it will, but they didn't say anything about it coming with SU14. So let's hope they implement it as soon as possible.

They did, it was a little longer past this part. They talked about this particular change twice in the stream.  I believe I may remember seeing it on the dev update screen too, I could be wrong but we’ll find out tomorrow when they post that.

Ok, then I may have missed it, thanks. I see it in one of their slides as SU14+, hope they give us something in SU14.

Very true 

Glad it got the result we wanted, even if not the timeline some wanted. Having just started a second play through of Sekiro, I can wait until SU14.

About 2-3 months is quite a wait.

I'll try the hack after the SU13 update finishes today...

2 months isn't quick to implement something that takes a few mins. How is expressing an opinion you disagree with starting a fight? I am not the only person to express the same  opinion. In the words of bobcat999, a respected fellow here:-

Nothing in software as complex as MSFS2020 takes a few minutes.  In anycase, I didn't suggest you were picking a fight - that was a quote from another user.  I was more agreeing your overal tone these days seems to be more negative than the Ianrivaldosmith from the past.

It worked for me in the SU13 beta, and the version they're releasing today is the same version number as the final beta patch.

Probably because we have long standing bugs that should have been fixed, or at least commented on now by Asobo, it’s just frustrating. Probably comes across in my tone. It’s not aimed at anyone personally.

Not wanting to pick a fight with that!    But I would suggest it is now easy and takes just a few minutes.

Most of the groundwork on the colours has been done, and people are using various tweaks to Biology's numbers to suit themselves, and the hack does only take a matter of minutes if you have the right type of installation (not the locked down version), either with a hex editor, or the automatic tool.  People on here have certainly done it within a few minutes.  Nothing to do with software development at all, which we all appreciate is complex.
