I ask because I have a blank Altimeter with no digits, Blank temp gauge and my Pitot heat switches will not turn on.

Sounds like some didn't go right in the install.  Try again?

You have to turn on a lot of switches in cockpit to make things work.  AP has it's own on/on switch, radios (avionics) has it's own, the EFIS/HSI has it's own.... Things won't light up or work without all the proper switches.  I recommend following each checklist point to the letter.  I've done two flights today and she works perfectly.

Did you RTFM before asking if the devs did test their addon? Hope so...

I feel like we see this every time a new plane releases. Someone always has some crazy issue, indicative of a faulty installation or lack of reading the manual and then the person doesn't for a second stop and think "Okay, half my plane isn't functioning, no one else is reporting it, maybe the issue is on my end?" instead of it being for lack of testing.

C'mon.

Yes, a bit of an over-reaction on the title.

I would expect someone to go through the very active and visible main thread on this aircraft first, to see if anyone else is having the problem (seems like they are not) before asking questions like this with such an accusing tone.  I am sure the developers, who are very active in the forums and have a good reputation, will be disappointed by this.

Rob (but call me Bob or Rob, I don't mind).

I like to trick airline passengers into thinking I have my own swimming pool in my back yard by painting a large blue rectangle on my patio.

Intel 14900K in a Z790 motherboard with water cooling, RTX 4080, 32 GB 6000 CL30 DDR5 RAM, W11 and MSFS on Samsung 980 Pro NVME SSD's.  Core Isolation Off, Game Mode Off.

I think he got it now. sometimes we are a little too enthusiastic and want to jump right into it. has happened to me before. I am sure he is now knee-deep in the 1.200 pages Pilot's information manual enjoying "once upon a time, there was TBM 850...."

www.tbm.aero/medias_front/documents/142037PIM-850-From-SN-434.pdf

I was lucky when I bought my first real aircraft I had a very experienced pilot friend in the copilot seat with me and after a welcome kiss on the propeller, I jumped right into it, enjoying the factory new smell inside the cockpit. reading the various thick aircraft binders would have spoiled the spontaneous joy, reading came afterwards and kept me busy for weeks.

If you read through the existing thread, there is no mention of your issue, so I would spend a little more time to RTFM.  I would also suggest starting a flight on the runway, so the aircraft will be setup for take off - if everything is OK perhaps you missed something from the checklist?

If it is still not OK I would then I would post here with a thread title like 'X & Y aren't working properly, did I miss something off the checklist?', rather than a stab at the developer.  Personally at this point, I would re-install the aircraft to make sure that's not the problem.

If you still have the problem, Only then should you contact the developer and question their competence of the testing procedure 🙂

Hi Pete, and with all the respect to you, the testers would not be missing something like this.  The issue will be on your end.  Take time to read the manual, it's comprehensive.  If you follow the checklists, I can guarantee you that you won't have any issues.  Failing that, you could have a mod installed that is upsetting the apple cart.  Happy flying mate.

Bravo throttle?  Its your buttons mapped to the switches.  If not, not sure.

As for your title of this thread...I'd ask you the same thing about the choice of your post title.  Did you "test" it in your mind, running thru the possible replies from 100s of simmers here with the aircraft installed and running fine without the issue you stated..then thinking "yeah, I'm sure everyone will be empathetic and rush to help me, and immediately chime in that they too can't believe this was released in this state, and no testing obviously was done"?

Or was this cheeky sarcasm and we're all missing the humor?

Hope you get your issues resolved because she is a very enjoyable plane....one of the best in my opinion.

Steve Dra

Reminds me of the pilot flying real world and crashes off the end of the runway because he skipped check list and didn't remove the control lock.

I agree with just about everything said here Support their advice...to read (rtfm) first.

We are very fortunate to have the high quality aircraft that we presently do. As such...striving for realism as much as possible.....

You wouldn't just jump in, throw a few switches and take 'er for a rip.

Les, you wanna crash & burn 🔥

Not being mean, just real.

Someone has the exact same problem over at the JF forum! I'm not new to software, flight sim, installing add-ons. Just because you don't have a problem does not mean there are no problems, bugs etc...

From the guy who comments on everyone's post who has a problem just to say you don't! Guess if you don't have a problem, there are none, right?
