Just to report back my findings ! cheers 😉 Same experience for me. Being extra cautious when new AC is released i usually wait on the initial reviews and the numerous issues regarding rotation and unstick made me pass. However post patch i jumped right in and did a test flight from Kansai to Tokyo and the AC flies beautifully. I am not particularly affected by the catering truck issue but i hope they manage to fix that as they further refine the product. November 23, 20232 yr The 787-8 also just got an update. I’m in bed, didn’t feel like making a separate thread, someone else can do it if they want https://flightsim.to/file/45062/boeing-787-8

I am not using GSX, so this is for the normal MSFS settings for the Catering Truck and i was over there discord and they told me it has should be fixed in V.1.01 but somehow missed the update and they will post the fixed values for this entry over discord asap so i will see - have to look at the discord today again.. cheers 😉 08.2024 new PC is online : ASUS ROG STRIX X670E-F GAMING WIFI Mainboard, AMD Ryzen™ 9 7950X3D Prozessor, G.Skill DIMM 64 GB DDR5-6000 (2x 32 GB) Dual-Kit, MSI GeForce RTX 4090 VENTUS 3X E 24G OC Grafikkarte, 2x WD Black SN850X NVMe SSD 4 TB - Drive C+D, WD Gold Enterprise Class 12 TB for storage HDD, Thermaltake Toughpower GF3 1000W PC - Power supply, Thermalright Phantom Spirit 120 EVO CPU Aircooler with 7 Heatpipes, Design Meshify 2 White TG Clear Tint Tower-Case, 3x 4K monitors 2x32 Samsung 1x27 LG 3840x2160, Windows11 Prof. 23H2 - now Windows11 Prof. 25H2 Flightsimulator Hardware: Honeycomb Throttle Bravo, Logitech Extreme 3D Pro, Logitech Flight Joke System, XBox Controller, some Thrustmaster stuff, Winwing CDU Panels.
November 25, 20232 yr I have a few questions on the Horizon 789. 1) What is the best procedure to engage autothrottle with a throttle quad. I move the throttles to about 40%, then click the takeoff power clickspot while simultaneously moving my physical throttles to full power. This works in all other aircraft but on this one, it moves the throttles to TOGA and they do not follow the calculated takeoff thrust. I guess I could just leave them at 40% but that seems incorrect. 2) How do you switch between KGS and LBS ? 3) In the checklist, I notice the line for set TRIM and also FLAPS is blank and not allowing for a check or auto reading the position, is this normal ? November 25, 20232 yr For the power setting, the real world procedure on RR engines is to set approximately 20% TPR, let the engines stabilise then press TOGA. In the sim you have to fudge it as we don’t have motorised auto throttles. So set approximately 20% TPR , put the white commanded thrust symbol at around the 4 o’clock poison the engine dial to get in the ball park for this, let the engines stabilise, then hit TOGA. Now, this is where things differ in the sim, you then , using the throttle have to manually put the commanded TPR segment ( white arc around the outside of the TPR dial) onto the reference/target TPR marker ( green Y symbol, also on the outside of the TPR dial). That way once the throttles go into HOLD mode they won’t move as you have the correct TPR and throttle position set. If you just manually go full throttle after pressing TOGA once the thrust levers servos de clutch and go into HOLD mode , at 80 KTS, the engines will then be commanded to full thrust, which isn’t what you want. You might want to try the "TO GA" MSFS control (key, button) instead of the clickspot, because that's what I do. Also you might want to double check your flight preparation in the FMC (engine rating, V-speeds). EDIT: I just saw jon b's answer. You might indeed override the throttle if you move it too late / too slowly ( = once HOLD mode is engaged) or you are moving it unintentionally afterwards while holding. What I do: Push the throttle forward quickly after pressing TOGA and then don't touch them again (I leave the hand above it in case of a rejected takeoff, but I don't touch it). 2) Not sure, i think somewhere in the FMC settings. 3) It does auto check for me. So once you put the trim into the requested setting and the flaps into the setting you gave in the FMC, it will auto check. November 25, 20232 yr I'm sorry, but this aircraft is just rubbish. On approach into KBOS, set FLCH to descend to 1700 and 180 knots. Aircraft decides to throttle to max thrust, sending me into overspeed and completely ruining the approach. See here https://imgur.com/QhodxPI I don't think I did anything wrong? November 25, 20232 yr I’ve noticed when using FLCH to climb the auto throttle mode will sometimes go into HOLD. It’s as though the climb and descent functions of the auto throttle in FLCH have been reversed somehow. 30 minutes ago, BWBriscoe said: set FLCH to descend to 1700 and 180 knots. December 17, 20232 yr Can I just ask if this aircraft has sounds included like Master warning, TCAS CLIMB CLIMB, TRAFFIC TRAFFIC etc , and that annoying " bing bong " chime that's always going off on the 787 flightdeck ? I'm busy flying it and not getting those sounds and was just assuming they aren't supplied, then I suddenly thought I'd better ask because maybe it does have those sounds and I have an issue my end, and I'm missing out 🙂 787 captain. Not at my end. But I'm using a sound pack addon from ftsim Regards, Marcus P.
December 17, 20232 yr Ah thank you for the reply, at least I know it’s not something that’s missing from my instillation now. I can’t say I’m missing the constant ding dong chime either, it’s quite annoying after the 83rd time of hearing on a flight 🙂 787 captain.
