I'm sorry, but this aircraft is just rubbish.

if you have an issue, go to their discord and be constructive.  people did this aircraft for free and don't deserve to have their work slimed as 'just rubbish.'

Please read the relevant topic on AVSIM, there is no such problem, only an inadequate input of weights and fuel. We are a bit hasty in blaming without checking and slow to be laudative sometimes...

Finally managed to get a few flights in with this, I waited for the original version top be patched.  Two great flights, one medium haul from Canada to the Caribbean and one long Haul YYC-LHR, in both cases the flight when great, no real issues to speak of, quite a bit of fun!

I'm having issues with VNAV.  On two occasions my TOD has been off and left me high.  On a third, it was pitching me down at around 5,000 FPS for no reason.

Besides that, seems to be in good shape.  I hope a few more mods/updates will refine what's already there.  Except for a pause at TOD - I don't need much more.

Lorby Time Machine lets you set a distance from destination to pause the sim.  It’s a great freeware program and easy to use.

I have been flying 787 for a while and I don't have any issues with VNAV. However, there are instances where descent angle is too steep between two waypoints. But to me its an issue of flight planning which easily resolved by managing speed brake when necessary, or entering  hold, decelerate  and descent...

As @sd_flyer,I have also only seen the too steep descent angle, especially at the beginning.  Otherwise all works well.

I still feel like my biggest personal gripe with this aircraft is on final... it's really hard to explain, but it's almost like the plane wants to level itself off and doesn't have that "smooth" feel that I get with a PMDG 737 for instance. It just doesn't feel right and I've adjusted so many settings without any success. Otherwise, I think it's a great plane.

I've found on autoland it and the 787-8 flare too early.

So far, I'm tremendously impressed with this aircraft. It has massive functionality, especially when one considers that was given to the public free of charge.

The only possible bug I'm seeing so far is that sometimes, the TOD doesn't get generated.

For what it's worth, on my last flight to Maui, I calculated my own TOD, pressed the FLCH button and almost immediately, the TOD appeared on the MFD. Having said that, after I pressed VNAV, it failed to hold the path...

Question; I can't seem to find the equivalent of a Speed Intervene button. In other words, If I want the autothrottles to hold a speed other than what is displayed, how do I open that window?

Press the speed select knob in to open the speed window.

Few steamers seem to be flying this a lot now have they fixed the vnav issues?

I keep finding some really good things hidden in the APFDS and synoptic pages, like the real world functionality of being able to fly a VFR approach in IAN, I though no way that would work but it does.

The most major flaw I’ve come across is the FLCH logic behaviour is sometimes in reverse, auto thrust goes into hold in a climb , and THR  in a descent which is dangerous.

New Update today:

Horizon Simulations 787-9 v1.0.3
Changelog
Full WT0.2.5 system intergration by Adam
Window Plugs by DeathActual

It's only a small changelog but the new WT systems should fix the ND not showing the flight plan, and the window plugs now allows more accurate livery creation. This update is now live on flightsim.to and via the HeadwindSimulations Installer

Horizon Simulations 787-10
It's all about the finer details
Over the last few weeks @Hans Moleman has been hard at work making the last minor changes to the B78X, including decal sheets, fixed the location of Pitot Tubes and static ports, new galleys and now we have even more doors functioning! Although this may seem like nothing major, it will allow for more catering trucks, higher quality liveries and an overall better feeling plane visually. Because these changes are so minor I don't have loads of images to show, but keep an eye out over the coming weeks across our social media channels and in screenshots for more images!
