It may very well be the case.  In his interview with BLueSky Radio or whatever it's called,  he actually said the words, 'we are getting ready to release the 777'   You wouldn't actually commit to that comment if it was late alpha or early beta.  (I wouldn't anyway)

But then again, if I recall from history, PMDG have released aircraft in January before.  I guess they were unable to make the Xmas deadline, but were probably working towards it.
