I’m waiting to throw some more money at just flight for  the PA38, Avro RJ , and Fokker 70/100 , but I don’t think any of those will be out this year.

I think we will see one of those before the end of the year.

Wasn't the Inibuilds A300 still planned to be released before the year is over? I could be wrong.

Yep that's what they said. Has been really quiet since then, though.

For transparency: I'm a community mentor at the BATC discord. However, I do not get paid for it in any way.

I mostly look forward to the SWS PC-12 and the Working Title SR22T.

And maybe the two upcoming Famous Flyers will be interesting too.

While there hasn’t been any news updates, the Devs keep saying it’s the plan when it is brought up on the ini discord.

Any thoughts on what we'll see this year?

Fenix V2 we will almost certainly see (*but who knows).    Apart from that, I am really hoping for the FBW A380.

My guesses and ones of interest would be:

  • Fenix V2 Block2 with a high likelihood of arrival before xmas
  • of course the SU14 aircraft SR22 and iniBuilds A320 neo
  • iniBuilds A300 given that they said "We hope to make an official unveiling to the end of 2023!": https://forum.inibuilds.com/topic/19484-inibuilds-a300-600-for-microsoft-flight-simulator-development-update-fsexpo-houston-2023/ , and also this week on their discord said it's still on track for a 2023 release
  • hoping beyond hope some preliminary release of the FBW A380, but who knows
  • PMDG 777 likely only 1Q24 or after
  • am intrigued by the secret airbus project iniBuilds has been teasing a lot about, for which the reveal is coming by end of year, though will only release after (lot of rampant discussion/speculation on their discord).. this is what they've confirmed below, they also recently said they've been working on it since 2020. Given what they say below gotta be one of A330, A340, or A350 🙂
    • Josh6948eb91babde3f1d035ddfe4cf8b10d.webp?si13/10/2023 09:59

      okay I'll say it:
      • The secret project is a modern long haul Airbus
      • The announcement is planned before end of year
      • It is very unlikely it'll be before the A300 is out
      • No we will not say what it is before then
      • It's not the A380
      • It's a project by us, for us. So any MS projects we're working on, are also not the secret project

Feel like both the high fidelity short-haul/narrow-body airliners and GA spaces have nicely filled out for MSFS now.. we are in need of the same happening for the long-haul/wide-body space. Of course we have an excellent near-high-fidelity bird in the default 787, and the default A310, but really need more and soon 🙂

As far as i was aware, the EFB had been promised for months, they went their own route to try and resolve it, which they gave up on as Asobo as you say fixed the issue. Was that not months wasted time? I also recall there was some mention in one of the many updates suggesting the issues they were having with it to throw more people at it.

That's all i am going to say on the subject as i don't want this thread to turn into another PMDG war.

This has nothing to do with a PMDG war. The EFB struggle has nothing to do with the 777, that's the only point. As for wasted time, no it's not because the missing functionality was out of their control and uncertain if it would ever come at all, so the only options were to either develop a work around or sit and do nothing, the latter of which I think no one would have liked.

By Christmas, I only see Block 2 of the Fenix A320 and the iniBuilds A320neo.

Early next year, JustFlight Avro Vulcan, A2A Sim's next aircraft, TFDi MD-11.

Q1 to Q2 next year: Fenix A319 and A321, whatever FSLabs is working on, PMDG 777-200LR, BlueBird 757, Aerosoft A330-300, iniBuild's own long-haul Airbus.

PA-38 definitely not:

Complete and utter guesswork, however.
