Interesting to see the fps costs on a modest machine...

Very interesting video, nice job.  In many of the comparison shots I barely noticed a difference in quality between settings unless I looked very closely, except for things like the clouds and the closeup of the runway textures.  Overall, the differences are really not that noticeable.

It pays to reduce the graphics settings to get better fps over having everything maxed out and it gives you some head room for the frame rate drop that happens when you fly into areas with huge cities and high quality 3rd party scenery.

True.
But it is good to see those comparison videos pop up again sometimes since the simulator is evolving. Some settings from the past versions of MSFS can have different outcomes now. Just thinking out lout because I do not track them.

Simply confirms what we already knew pretty much from the day of release of MSFS 2020: the sim looks great even at moderate settings. If you want to have a great visual experience, there is really no need to spend money on overpriced hardware.

That's great will tweak as needed now.

Performance and frame rates are a staple of MSFS forums, so it doesn't do any harm to keep posting comparison videos like this.

Surely not everybody was kung fu fighting.

Great work!👍

1 FPS here, 2 FPS there... Before you know it, that's 10+ FPS that people would spend hundreds of £/€/$ on a hardware upgrade to achieve the same result.

As already mentioned, MSFS is updated frequently–even this video may be slightly out of date. What it does though, is give a good starting point, so is well worth sharing.

Absolutely a waste of a post, you are 100% correct.

This is just the typical YouTube click bait garbage.

Just tell us your results, save us from watching a YouTube video!!!

You could just, 1.) Ignore the post and attached video. 2.) Not make a disparaging post about the OP’s post. THINK OF ALL THE TIME YOU'LL SAVE!

Actually, one of the best videos of this type I think I've seen.  Shows you both the order of magnitude of benefit and performance impact.  Great presentation, maximum information with minimum wasted time.

He did, that's what the markers in the video are for. You can just jump to the clearly marked point on the video and see the results. This is done so you are not forced to watch the video and can easily reference what you're looking for.

I think it was a very direct and to the point little production of use to many I'm sure. It's good to have an up-to-date set like this.

5800X3D - Strix X570-E - 32GB 3600Mhz DDR4 - AMD RX 9070 XT- Samsung 980 Pro x2

This was a useful video for me. I lowered some settings because I didn't see a significant difference between High and Ultra.

This is one of the better comparison vids, not sure what folks are complaining about.

It's greatly edited and time stamped for you to immediately skip to the segment of the graphics sliders you specifically care about.

@HiFlyer Yes thank you for posting the vid or I would have never discovered it. For the longest I've wondered about contact shadows and building LOD visuals vs performance in VR.

This gave a better much more visual example of what we are selecting in the graphical sliders.
