April 13, 20242 yr I remember ini builds saying they got feedback from real A310 pilots when making their A310 that the VNAV was too good compared to the real thing. Apparently a lot of real A310 pilots didn’t bother with VNAV profile on decent and just use v/s because of how unreliable it was Edited April 13, 20242 yr by Tuskin38
April 13, 20242 yr Just had a great taxi and takeoff from NZAA, the ground handling is superb (SU15). Planning an RNAV approach into Hobart, hope it’s windy, always fun. 7950X3D | RTX 4090 | 64GB DDR5

Without even personally experiencing the product you own? That seems... Odd. Like I said, I don’t get a lot of free time to sim. Knowing the issues the A-300 had(s), I go to “stable” airplanes. It’s frustrating when I only have 30 mins to get airborne and when I return to the sim a few hours later to land, it’s CTD or the airplane is flopping around the ground like a fish out of water. A. I do understand that and I think it's a valid point. The less time you have for your beloved hobby, the more frustrating a CTD in the middle of a flight feels. For transparency: I'm a community mentor at the BATC discord. However, I do not get paid for it in any way.

I agree, and I especially understand because over the last few years, my sim time has been sharply curtailed by this annoying thing called real life responsibilities. However, I also don't drop $50 on products I'm not even going to fly once. 😉 Ryzen 7 7800X3D/B650 X AX | 5090 | 32gig | Win10 | Pimax Crystal Light

Might have just been that you bought the wrong aircraft for your needs, rather than anything that is INI's fault. Any way, the key message is that the A300 was very buggy on release but it's been through many updates and most (on here certainly) find it pretty stable now. There are people like myself and Captain Piett who are flying the life out of it day in, day out. No CTDs, no real bugs to speak of. There are things I would love to see improved, mostly the sound mixing, but even that had a good update yesterday. I'm personally flying the A300 fives times for every single time I fly the PMDG or the Fenix .... and I love those planes. At least not any serious ones. I've had it since Feb 25th. I completely missed that update - wasn't subscribed to this thread. That's an extensive list of fixes. Currently en route from NZAA to YMHB, a bit long for my taste (1335nm 3hrs). Was thinking to do a flaps 15/20 landing, but getting a bit confused. On 4/2/2024 at 4:41 PM, Cpt_Piett said: Just discovered something new: Use the GPWS flaps override switch just to the left of captain's yoke, and it's possible to land with flaps 15/20 without incessant warnings. Much like the config 3 button on the Fenix overhead panel. On 4/2/2024 at 11:51 PM, Farlis said: That's what the 15/20 Flaps switch above the Flap lever is for. That switch is the equivalent of the Flaps 3 Button in the A320 series. April 13, 20242 yr FWIW, I’ve never once had a CTD with the A300…I’m sure the people who post about it being trash etc have had issues, but it’s important to note that’s not everyone, and in my view it’s a very good aircraft and a great part of my hangar. April 13, 20242 yr Got her safely down to Hobart using flaps 15/20 and the GPWS switch on the CPT side. Extensive use of spoilers on the way down (started descending at the ND TOD marker). I did an RNAV approach which required some extra planning. Trick is to be fully configured at FAP in ALT mode and arm final appr on the MCDU. Just before FAP, push the PROFILE button on the FCU, then P.DES will be armed (shown in blue on the FMA). At FAP, the aircraft will start the final approach descent. Here's a screenshot showcasing this great aircraft, as well as NZA's YMHB (sort of relevant as their products have been discussed in various threads today): 7950X3D | RTX 4090 | 64GB DDR5

April 13, 20242 yr Flying it now, and the only bugs I'm seeing involve camera position in VR. By default the pilot's about 3 feet tall, and several zoom spots zoom you in way too much. Otherwise, it's quite impressive. Ryzen 7 7800X3D/B650 X AX | 5090 | 32gig | Win10 | Pimax Crystal Light
April 14, 20242 yr Can you spot the paint-based oddity going on here? 😄 The funny thing is, I'm sure I've flown this (official Ini) repaint before and never noticed that gremlin with the DHL logo.
