BeyondATC Released (EA)

Featured Replies

**Minor Update 1.0.22.EA**

- Fixed a bug where handoffs to tower weren't happening for specific approach types.

- Fixed a bug where visual approaches would clear you down to 1000 feet.

- Fixed a bug where "intercept the localizer" wasn't being called on visual approaches.

- Fixed a bug where transition altitudes were incorrectly calculated on the destination airport.

- Fixed a bug where go around altitudes were being set way too high.

- Continued work on fixing and removing hard to understand accents in the Basic Voice Model.

- Continued work and fixes for descent profiles on STARs.

- Changed the way descent instructions are calculated for STARs with no restrictions; should be much better and easier to understand.

- Auto reply for "Verify information X" now working correctly.

- Added confirmation for new cruise altitude so you don't accidentally get given the wrong altitude if the AI misinterpreted what you said.

- Fixed a bug where "X miles from IF" was being calculated incorrectly.

You guys must have all missed the part where the dev put it to a vote and the majority asked them to release early. Several of us said yes, release early but just be prepared for the dogpile of people

PSA: Make sure you have an active flight plan in your SimBrief account as otherwise you'll just get a generic 'SimBrief cannot be reached' error message from BeyondATC and be plonked back at the enter SimBrief ID screen. Then probably spend an hour trying to work out how you could logon to SimBrief using a browser but BeyondATC seemingly couldn't. Ask me how I know 😉

How can I make sure that my flight plan just generated in SimBrief is active ? I continue to get a SimBrief cannot be reached' error message. Thanks !

some things to check:

Did you click the “Generate Flight” button (top left on Flight Edit page)?

Are you seeing the correct Latest Flight entry appear on your Dashboard page (aka Welcome) in the top left box?

Thanks, Sir ! It helped - my plane was not properly generated. Now after your advice it woks !

Is there any plans to have the ATC tell you to monitor tower before taking off rather than always contact? Or will that come with sequencing?

well either way it looks like they can’t even source the taxi way data properly gotta love early access.

This is linked to the airport scenery data you are using, or default scenery without 3rd party. When taxi data are consistent, taxi path computation is working fine.

In case anyone else is waiting for purchase options: I noticed this morning you can also pay with Amazon Pay now. Afaik this is a new option? Not that it helps me: it seems to be US only. Still can't buy BATC, sigh.

I was doing a flight around Vancouver (Boundary Bay to Vancouver International Airport) in Canada, and for some reason, one of the frequencies I switched to, I got what sounded like a heavy French or European accent. It was wild.  Prior to that frequency, and after I switched off that frequency, I got the standard North American accent again (I was using Basic Voices the whole time). But the French/European accent was pretty tough to decipher.  But I kept with it anyways for the practice (you don't always get easy accents to listen to on VATSIM, so it was good practice).

All in all, BeyondATC is a huge game changer. Perhaps one of the most significant non-plane add-ons for MSFS. When they fix the bugs and polish it up, especially if they can get it to work smoothly with AI traffic, this will be a must use add-on for MSFS for people that want the whole experience with ATC.

I’m guessing it was trying to do a Canadian French voice.

Sure there are some inconsistencies and not everything is absolutely perfect, but from the perspective of a casual IFR sim flyer, I have to say that BeyondATC is absolutely fantastic, it completely changes the experience and makes flying so much more immersive. It's so easy to use, even for newbies like me, so much less intimidating than Vatsim. Plus, voice recognition is phenomenal, even with my pathetic little microphone and no headphones (it's so good that I cancelled my order for a headset with mic).

Game changer for me.

Confirmed. Just landed on runway 18R at FlyTampa’s EHAM, and the 10-minute taxi to the gate was flawlessly guided by BATC.

So we landed at the same time 🤣 same for me, no problems with a taxi to gate C8, he even understood my answer exactly. I'm really impressed with what BATC is already doing.

I get them at CYUL and CYYZ. They are not perfect but close to real Montreal controllers. Talk about immersion factor. I was so surprised when I first heard it, made me laugh.
