What’s your favorite addon airport so far?

Featured Replies

I’m tempted to say FB KSFO or FT EHAM, but just loaded up at EBBR to fly around in the 777. I forgot just how alive this airport feels. Just a masterpiece, and it’s nearly 2 years old now.

What other “WOW” airports are out there?

AMD 9950X3D | 64 GB RAM | RTX 5090

FMR: 747 FO, 757/767 CAPT, 737 Check Airman
Current 777 CAPT

Basically everything the developer (Jo Erlund) of that EBBR you mentioned made.

EDDK for example. That's much older, but still a very, very good representation of the real thing. I should know I live nearby.

Louisville from Fsdreamteam is also very good. Especially since the Freight Center utilizes GSX in a way that that there are no conveyor trucks and instead the containers come directly ouf of that building and are being pushed manually.

I have EBBR sitting in my cart actually...I need some European airports for the 777!  Also going to get FT EHAM.  My favorites are probably FB KMSP, FB KSFO,FT KBOS, FT CYYZ and Drz KDCA out of the approx 100 addon airports I have...geeez...do I have that many??😐

I‘d say overall it‘s EBBR for me as well. It just feels complete.

i9-11900K, RTX 4090, 32 GB ram, Honeycomb Alpha and Bravo, TCA Airbus sidestick and quadrant, Reverb G2

Lol I know I have some I bought months ago and have yet to fly to. I have serious problem with not wanting to fly into default airports

This is such a hard question....lots of great airports. Okay, for me EBBR is at the top (as others have already said, great work!), KBOS by FlyTampa, KRNT Drz. Design, EGPH & EGPF by Pyreegue, and EGNX by Pyreegue as well.

AMD Ryzen 9900X3D & ASUS X870E Gaming Plus MB, w/64 Gb GSkill DDR5 RAM, PNY RTX 5090 GPU, lots of SSD's and M.2 drives, HAVN  Case, Virpil VPC Panels 2 and 3, Virpil Constellation Alpha Stick, Virpil Rotor TCS Plus w/ Hawk-60 Collective grip, TM TCA Yoke Boeing Edition, TM HOTAS A-10 and F/A-18 Sticks and TM TPR Rudder pedals. Currently on Win11

Is it a cop out if I choose the well done rendition of my home Airport, FSimStudios CYHZ?

Current System (Running at 4k): ASUS ROG STRIX X670E-F, Ryzen 7800X3D, RTX 5090, 55" Samsung Q80T, 64GB DDR5 6000 RAM, EVGA CLC 280mm AIO Cooler, Brunner CLS-E NG Yoke, Thrustmaster Warthog HOTAS & Stick, Thrustmaster TCA Quadrant & Add-on, VirtualFly Ruddo+, TQ6+ and Yoko+, GoFlight MCP-PRO and EFIS, Skalarki FCU and MCDU

Mk Laguardia/Barcelona are underrated.  I talked to MK studios at SimExpo and they are doing a V2 of all their airports including Rome and Helsinki.

Fly Tampa Boston/EHAM equally good

Pyreguee Edinburgh - and an even better V2 coming

Vertical sim- newer stuff and KFLL in progress.

Honestly, the addons are getting higher and higher quality.  Even JustSim is now making second gen sceneries.  Nice was so much improved it was hard to believe it was justsim.

The standard we hold scenery design to now would have blown our minds in 2010

Have to agree that EBBR is special, as is anything by Jo Sund.

Other high quality and noteworthy sceneries include:

  • Jo Sund's ENGM
  • Marcus Nyberg's Nordic airports
  • Pyreegue's UK sceneries
  • iniBuilds' EGHI (looks like a labour of love by one of their dev team).
  • FlyTampa's KBOS, KLAS, YSSY and EGNJ.
  • NZA Sim's NZMC, NZMF and NZCH.
