You are missing the point... the logo is separate from the utility. If, say, you have a multi-monitor setup and you are recording or streaming your primary monitor, you have no choice but to have this logo appear even if the utility is on the 2nd monitor.

I admit I did not expect this thread to become controversial. I'm hoping the discourse is at least interesting to read! I meant it as an FYI thread. BTW this addon includes a logo on screen that you can NOT remove. If you buy it the dev does not allow refunds for this reason but if you argue and fall out with them then they will likely grant you one. If I'd posted those 2 lines as is I'd have been asked for proof of my 'accusations' I'm sure.

There seems to be either 2 or 3 main points of view here - let's go for 3:

1) A non-functional brand logo on my sim screen purely for advertising purposes is an annoyance period and we don't want it (me obviously)

2) That brand logo is not much really and you should put up with it or not care you're making a big deal out of nothing.

3) We can see your point but never noticed it ourselves. It doesn't bother us but good luck in your quest

If I've over simplified sorry!

My point HERE is that I have not seen an opinion FOUR:

4) (hypothetical) That logo on your screen that serves no purpose but to remind us of the product we are using right now is a GOOD THING and we LOVE it. We wish every single addon would include a logo. We can't get enough of on screen advertising!

PMDG puts their logo on their ground equipment (and on some textures in the aircraft like pens).

That's how I see it.

The top right hand corner logo that comes up is the name of the product, Flow Pro.  It's not Parallel 42.  It's showing you what's been opened.

I agree with you Tuskin38.  I see branding all over the place in the sim.  We going to get to a point where we ask PMDG for a refund?  What about Fenix with their branding on the EFB?  Where does it end?  The OP is going to end up getting a refund for everything?

I love this thread. At first I thought this was the latest instalment of juicy flight sim drama a la FSDG including ads with their scenery.
Was about to get my pitchfork ready and all. Then I saw the actual problem screenshot 😆

I mean look, it's something else to talk about other than the usual 777/MD-11 chat (I have and enjoy both, so there).

I think you are a very specific kind of customer. With a very entitled way of communicating. You opened the conversation with telling them how their software MUST work, sort of threatening with immediate refund requests, spouting some stuff about being a content creator (everyone is nowadays, no one really cares, sorry). I'd have started with something more along the lines of;  "Hey, is it possible to remove the Flow Pro logo? I did not realize this would be visible every time I interact with the software and it bothers me." 

If you had approached the developer in a different manner, you might have not received the reply you did from them eventually (which came after a longer email thread apparently, that we may not have seen all of). Their first response was polite, to the point, and even pointed out their refund policy, with the exact section that states;

We do not warrant that the quality of any products, Services, information, or other material purchased or obtained by you will meet your expectations or assumptions. Personal opinion of worthiness, value, feature implementation, or failed expectations does not merit a return.

Your only issue with the software is something based on a personal opinion and failed expectation. I am actually annoyed that they gave in and will go for a refund, because that will encourage your behaviour. I'd have put my foot down and rather not have customers with your attitude and mentality. The final answer you received was in my opinion completely deserved and politely worded. 

P.S.: You MUST change your username, I do not wish to be confronted with advertisement for your music when coming to a flightsim forum 🤪

It's a hypothetical mate.  All good.

Just saying that product placement and logos appear on quite alot of sim software and if anyone was to apply the OP requests, you could make a case to get refunds on other software.

And that is the point. EVERYONE is a content creator, with dozens of MSFS videos uploaded to YouTube daily. There are 412k followers of MSFS on Twitch. Which makes this look way more like an advertisement to those of us who either create or ingest this content on a regular basis vs an innocent logo. The only thing keeping this from looking like a Twitch burn-in ad is some text below the logo: Use code imnotgettingpaidforthis for 0% off your next //42 order!

Oh and just for a bit of delicious irony I'd like to point out is that this discussion is happening here on Avsim – the forum notorious for its obnoxious advertising.

May want to change your 'libellous'  comment. It isn't FSDT, rather FSDG who has included advertising in one of their scenery products.

But yes, this entire thread is a storm in a teacup and we aren't even discussing the relevance of third party weather add-ons, nor the inclusion of default weather radar or lack of it in our favourite airliners... 😁
