Bought it too, couldn’t resist. However first flight, climbing out of EGNT for LCPH I turned on Engine Anti Ice which I think caused a WASM crash and I had to abandon my flight. At the same time the aircraft starting to “wallow” on the AP and very slowly descend which I assume is the same crash.  I’ve posted on the discord.

I was always in 2 minds about this one especially as I found their A310 to always feel unfinished and inconsistent in some of its behaviour.   As much as I appreciate that the A310 was free and therefore expectations are undeniably different one can't help but take that impression with you when making a decision on their paid products.

Upon release of this one there was certainly no lack of negative impressions so I decided to give this one a miss, seems that unlike their A310 they kept patching and improving this one so at its current price point I ended picking it up.  Always was disappointed with the A310 sounds but here I have to say that the engine sounds on this bird are very satisfying, not just the engines either, the sounds overall are very immersive , it's all nicely modelled and the cockpit is very convincing.  Only fired up the engines so far, yet to take it to the skies but first impressions are very positive at least, I've got a good feeling about this one, fingers crossed it stays that way!!

It is important to keep in mind that the a310 is a contract airplane from Microsoft. Microsoft paid ini to make the plane. MS would have to pay ini to make the changes. It’s why it hasn’t been updated.

And Microsoft should really do that, they have made a small update that didn't really do too much, would be desirable if it worked as well as the A300 - so come on Microsoft..

cheers 😉

They have patched the A310 a few times. It's just up to Microsoft/Asobo to actually remember to give us the updates.

This aircraft had been in my virtual hangar since SU15. Seems that update affected it badly performance-wise. Lots of stuttering/micropauses in all phases of flight.

After the Inibuilds update, just now I set up a Simbrief flight KMSP - KLAX in the PW freighter version - just to see how it would perform. The scenery at KMSP was FlightBeam and I was using FSLTL traffic. Weather was current conditions.

I must say I was very pleasantly surprised! No more stuttering or micro-pauses on the ground or in the air. I didn't complete the flight, only climbed out to around FL180. I'll do a complete flight this evening.

At least on my end, it looks like the update is doing what Inibuilds intended it to do.

Updated to the latest version this morning and now I'm getting a #3 IRS Battery fail which prevents alignment (both GE and PW versions). Anyone else see that?

Yeah the few I remember have been one step forwards 2 steps back type of thing, at the time I even posted on their forums about it and it took months to get the fixes to come and they fixed one thing, broke another.  Sure Asobo may be part of the problem as they only rolled out the 310 updates as part of their sim updates but as a consumer you just end up moving on which is a shame as I really enjoyed the 310 so this A300 certainly scratches that itch.  It's clear that system depth inevitably means some bugs and patches will be needed so I guess it's a tough spot for these types of planes that arrive for free, patches/improvements are slow to come if at all and you can't continously complain about a free product either, expectations need to be realistic.  It does however influence your future purchases from the same dev going forward but not wanting to sound too negative here as it's not exclusive to inibuilds.

I definitely have no doubt that inibuilds has both the expertise and enthusiasm to deliver a quality product but like anything you get what you pay for.

Yes I saw that.  Actually it was IRS#2 for me (the right-hand-most one).  I waited a long time to see if it would snap out of it, too.

I was able to play around with the EFB options, switching back n forth to "Instant" alignment or "Realistic" and the other option, and eventually it worked.

Anyone seeing massive porpoising the moment it captures GS on ILS?  Never happened before, now after update I can’t fly ILS

I haven't seen the porpoising motion, yet, as I'm still in cruise flight. However, what I've noticed is I am not getting any TOD indications on the PFD or FMC.

Another item is that I'm not getting are any MSFS default ATC voice messages. I've checked on the Inibuilds forums and there are other reports of this. I am getting FS ATC Chatter addon messages.

Update: As referenced above, since there were not any TOD indications, I managed the descent with reference to the KONT SCBBY2 STAR. I did not have any problems with A/P engaged during the ILS 26R KONT approach. The landing was hand flown and no issues there as well.

You’re kidding right?

In a way, yes.  I don't think an add-on should omit a terrain map, considering nearly all add-ons from FS9 onward had terrain.  I don't think omission of the weather radar is ideal, but I'm more willing to overlook that if the add-on is excellent (e.g., Fenix).  I've seen a handful of performance complaints in the iniBuilds products, so I didn't think it was worth taking a dive when some features are missing.  I bought it yesterday and have enjoyed it quite a bit so far though.
