4x seems crazy but I suppose it might be ok for very slow screen movement games. I envision lots of artifacts and ghosting while looking around.

Me too, but who knows, we may be surprised. I was shocked at how good 3x was. I only knew it was 3x when I went back in the menu and saw I had mistakenly selected it. That’s how good it is, and this is from 30 FPS.

  • um WHAT?!   This is crazy....165 FPS with the PMDG 777 at Aerosoft Oslo with 50% AIG traffic. 150 FPS at iniBuilds EGLL, (165 with no traffic). 110 FPS at DD KEWR (with addon KLGA & KJFK

  • Anyway the Dog and Duck seems to be working together OK in MSFS.

Works perfectly with gsync for me. Is your monitor full(hardware) gsync or a compatible?

Compatible. Gsync definitely not working, which limits my options (60, 100 or 120Hz). I could go 30x3 but can’t set refresh rate to 90 i.e. tearing. 40x3 but can’t maintain stable 40 in tough situations hence stutters. 30x2: might as well use native FG and gsync.

Although in general LSFG works a tiny bit better than native FG for me, I could get along without it, because I do have native FG. I tend to think that anyone that doesn't have native FG is being foolish not risking $8 to try it.

If I remember correctly, IslandSimPilot said in one of his videos that a neat trick is limiting fps by creating an LSFG tab in Nvidia Control Panel. Most of us have a "global settings" tab and an "flightsimulater.exe" tab. But I think he said to make a LSFG tab and limit fps there to a target that LSFG can easily handle in dense scenery. And then LSFG doesn't struggle in any scenery as it goes about its task of doubling that fps smoothly.

If I recall, he had a 3080ti and he set a limit of 30 fps in that tab. His monitor's max refresh rate was 60. And LSFG remained stable and didn't struggle in dense scenery areas. He was using 2X, not 3X in LSFG. I think he said people with lesser gpus might set 25 or 20 as a limit in that tab.

But I'm not sure about all that, I just vaguely remember what he was demonstrating.

I opened up Steam, selected Lossless Scaling on the Library tab.  I then clicked the little cog wheel over on the right, selected Properties then the beta tab.  You can then opt into running the beta, it will download automatically

For me, X4 has artifacts on the edges of the screen when I move the viewpoint around. (I have a 4090). X3 has no issues.

Waste of money for me unfortunately. Yes it doubles, triples and cuadriples fps but at a major cost for me; pannig with trackIR becomes very laggy, even normal mouse pan is considerably laggy now. I'm with RTX 4000 series using FG.

Impressive. 4x actually works. Brings me up to 60 fps from initial 15. The ghosting or artifacts seem no different than what I get at 3x.

Hello guys.

I want to ask you. I finally bought a new monitor :)   Now I need a new Graphics card as I am on 3060ti with 8GB which is not very ideal for MSFS...

Anyway the monitor supports HDR.  I want to ask you should I enable HDR option in Losssless Scaling too or rather not ?   I think MSFS supports HDR right ?  So maybe enable it only in MSFS but leave it off in LS ?

Thank you and wish you a nice day.
