August 31, 20241 yr I'm feeling a bit left out here. I've updated my 'yonks old' TIR to the latest version. Apart from it starting with Windows now (which used to be a pain forgetting to start TIR before starting the sim) it's working exactly how it should and always has worked. I don't know what you boys get up to to cock up something so simple! 🙄 The World is divided into two groups. Those who say "Give me a link" and those that provide the link. WWG1WGA

After I restart my PC, first thing I do is start Track IR, and never touch it after that.

I don't know what you boys get up to to cock up something so simple! 🙄 This afternoon I tried everything to get the latest version to work with my TIR 4 device and it just wouldn't. Uninstalled the older working version. Removed remaining files. Unplugged the device. Removed it from Device Manager too. Restarted pc, installed latest using both normal and as Admin. When I start the software I only get 4 red lights on the device. No other lights come on. Software does not detect any head movements since green light is not active. I manually tried updating drivers to no avail Chris Ibbotson AMD Ryzen 7 7800x3D / MSI AMD MPG x670E Carbon Motherboard / Gigabyte GeForce RTX 5090 Gaming OC 32GB GDDR7 PCI-Express Graphics Card / Corsair DOMINATOR Titanium RGB Grey 64GB 6000MHz AMD EXPO DDR5 / NZXT C1200 Gold ATX 3.1 - Fully Modular Low-Noise PC Gaming Power Supply - 1200 Watts - 80 PLUS Gold / 48” UltraGear™ UHD 4K OLED Gaming Monitor / 40" Philips 4K LED Monitor / Honeycomb Alpha Yoke / Honeycomb Bravo Throttle Quadrant / WinWing Orion Rudder Pedals c/w dampener / WinWing Ursa Minor Airline Joystick / WinWing Airbus MCDU

That's the point I was making. My TIR USED to start on PC start. Then it stopped doing that after a Windows update. NOW starting on PC start has returned so I don't have to worry about it. August 31, 20241 yr Chris, have you tried making sure EVERYTHING Natural point has been deleted? Even the registry! You're going round in circles because TIR thinks it's still there waiting to be reinstalled. So whatever caused the problem is still tucked away somewhere. The World is divided into two groups. Hadn't manually searched the registry so will try that thanks. It's reinstalling drivers in the new install directory and also into Windows/system32/drivers so it all should work It's no big deal as the older software works fine. September 2, 20241 yr Running TIR5 with 5.5.0 and zero issues. Have skipped the last two updates as I didn't see anything that would impact my use, but as others have noted, older versions are readily available on the website if needed. BTW, I resisted TIR for YEARS when running FSX and various versions of P3D. I don't use headphones and hate wearing a hat. I fidget and move around in my chair while simming so the screen's gonna be jumping all over the place. I'm afraid it'll be jerky while I look around, etc, etc, etc... Returning to simming after a several years long break I finally decided to "just try it". What a right word not allowed I feel like now. It works flawlessly and I can't imagine flying without it. I mean I seriously would stop simming rather than going back to no TIR. Scott

Scott Me too, I installed 5.5.1 and .2 but it gives me a bug with the center hotkey, it makes my camera jump when pressing the button in my yoke that centers TIR. Same thing happens if you map it to a key. So reverted to 5.5.0 that doesn't have that annoying issue. SN737
September 4, 20241 yr I have tried everything including removing all TrackIR and Naturalpoint references from the Registry after an uninstall. The last 3 iterations of the software fail to work with my TrackIR v4 device. The software detects it but only 4 red lights come on. September 4, 20241 yr Yep TrackIR 4 will not work with any version of the 5.5.x software (5.4.2 works just fine). I'm having the same issue as cj-ibbotson and yet have to see a post where a TrackIR4 device works under the new software. November 24, 20241 yr Hi, I got MSFS 2024, I have trackir5 pro and have tried 5.4.2 as well as newer versions. My problem is it won't update games file update so msfs2024 as a choice is missing from games list. Works great in msfs2020. I keep getting access denied to server popup box when I choose game update. Anyone have a clue if there is another way? Tried yesterday as well as today, multiple uninstalls, repair, remove registry keys. Thanks. CryptoSonar on Twitch & YouTube.
December 24, 2025Dec 24 There is a trick with Windoze to get it going, something to do with starting a Windows mouse app or such...anyone know of what I speak? Lost it in my Windoze crash.
