What in the world did I just read. 🤔

You just read some interesting facts.

Pmdg took 18 months to release a bare bones tablet with a few "apps" the main one provided by Navigraph, and were completely destroyed by Black Square offering with the most advanced tablet and features, ever released for a home flight simulator.

I can't stop being admired at how discussions nowadays take worthless tablets into consideration more than the actual simulator (you know, that thing that actually flies and you should be enjoying).

To be honest, I would be disappointed if good quality classic aircraft did not sell well. I mean, I appreciate that some of you guys only like to fly current types on real world routes, but flight sim

Nah, I just read some nonsense.

Black Square is an awesome developer, but an EFB doesn't exist in a vacuum. It needs to work with the aircraft it's buit for. PMDG makes airliners, which are massively more complex than GAs. The comparison is simply silly and the talk of "destroying" is downright childish.

I disagree . While I love BS, PMDG tablet is superior. However, Fenix EFB is the best in my opinion

Haha you start talking about Fenix and their tablet, compared to Pmdg. One is a Ferrari and the other a used Civic.

From a fiscal standpoint PMDG would net an incredible profit from a business jet. It would surpass everything they have put out for MSFS. But.. they seem stuck doing the same thing over and over again, almost like how movie producers are stuck remaking classics. I really hope some innovation comes from them but it's hard to have any high expectations on anything "different" from what they've been doing for years and years.

You probably look at content and eye candy . Content is not only a thing . I have Avidyne ifd400 in my airplane it has hundredth of features but I only use handful things  that help me flying.

PMDG in this respect is pretty intuitive as for me . Minimalistic to the degree I need .

Once in a while I get a student who tries to show me really cool feature in GPS or tablet while airplane start circling out of control lol

Speaking of the PMDG tablet, I was unable to find again the mod that added an app showing vatsim frequencies on it.

Cause greazer is pretty much a low effort troll at this point baiting the community in nonsensical engagement. If it's not their ridiculous "prediction" posts then its them make making outlandish claims about developers or companies in general that have no basis in truth or rationale. Then when called out on this behaviour they ignore you and try and bait someone else into their antics. Reminds me of Franz at this point.

I mean it took me 5 minutes to read a post where Mathijs said the tablet wasn't worked on for the entire term of 18 months as they had other commercial obligations.

Maybe somebody is lucky going through this page (or other similar ones) and is able to find the panels?

Walkarounds – Airlinercafe

I went through a few of them (757, 767) and did not find the featured panels.

The distinct features are the rectangle panel with the dark circle around the screws (1. picture) and the elevated circular bulb with the cut off segment and a screw in the middle (2. picture).

There are also many YT video of aircraft walkarounds.

Its also possible that the pictures are just fake airplane parts and PMDG is using the data from all the forums trying to get a feel for what they will make next?

Ha! Interesting idea.

So essentially you're saying PMDG might be subjecting all of us to the aviation equivalent of a Rorschach test? 😉

What do you mean ridiculous "prediction" posts, when there is only 1 result so far, and when MSFS team take to the stage in Las Vegas they present exactly what I predicted, being the In Sim route planner and Charts.

I really don't know but I hope not.  It is interesting that several people have sworn they have seen it but can't seem to put a finger on it.  The community is huge with people that have seen every squire inch of several aircraft but again nobody knows "YET"!  Its only been like 3 or 4 days so giving it more time is definitely needed before we give up!

Considering the size of PMDG and revenue is a factor in the decisions they make its not likely to be some sort of obscure and rare plane.  Its a plane we have seen several times in the past.  A very unscientific observation is the fit and finish of the panel is kind of like what they were doing 30 to 50 years ago.  This screams 737 Classic/Jurassic generation.  If it was older it would likely have a random dent or two on them.  Again totally unscientific observation!

I think its going to be amusing when we are all proven wrong when PMDG finely tells us what it is?  That panel could be on any plane anywhere and some parts of plane rarely get looked at even by people who work on them everyday.  I don't think we are really supposed to have it figured out before PMDG decides to tell us!

Its probably not a 757/767 since someone is already working on that plane and making good progress.  I am thinking its not something like a DC-3 or any other vintage plane since the panel is so perfect and I don't see a DC-3 bringing in the revenue PMDG would like to see.  If its an Airbus that would be a first for PMDG so not likely but not impossible I guess.  787 is a little more likely but apparently that theory has been discredited because the 787 does not use those types of screws.

Odds are really high its likely an airliner or at least some derivative of an airliner and considering PMDG's relationship with Boeing and having access to more data its probably a Boeing.  Boeing could include former McDonnell Douglas designs.  A DC-10 that looks pretty good is already in the works supposedly for FS2020.  MD-11 is already done by TFDi.  That leaves the MD-90 but if I had to guess I would leave that to someone else if I was PMDG.  DC-9 needs to be done but I think those panels look to modern for that plane.  Same for the DC-8!

Using an algorithm only I understand this screams 737 Classic with a slightly less chance of a Jurassic.  I am fully expecting to be totally wrong when PMDG officially announces it.  I am usually way off on everything!

I dunno. How well did the MD80 do? I mean the price point horrified people who at the time were used to seeing $15 and $20 Captainscam Marketplace releases since it was the first expensive payware to be released so I'm sure that hurt sales.

How well do aircraft largely removed from service do commercially? The points you make in support of the 737 Classic can easily be turned around against it - PMDG is a large company and their products are going to be expected to do well. By all accounts, the props for ESP platforms did not, I can imagine a bit of hesitancy to go down that path.

To be honest, I would be disappointed if good quality classic aircraft did not sell well. I mean, I appreciate that some of you guys only like to fly current types on real world routes, but flight simulation really is so much more than that. You can literally fly anything, anywhere.
