Best ATC Add-One without AI traffic taken into account

I've mentioned it previously somewhere (😁 oh, my mind) - you will only see traffic that from airports that you have ever visited or visited it's airport area (up to 100nm).
But for example - if you sit in EDDF with empty database (fresh install) and never visited EGLL for example or OMDB - then you will not see any of EGLL->OMDB traffic aircrafts bypassing over you.
However - it works in such way that over the time you get more and more traffic (because during your flight you're visiting more and more airports).

@FSHud Thanks for clarifying this - I had no idea this was how it worked. So, do I need to simply visit other airports with FSHud open, for them to be added to the database? Or do I actively need to start an FSHud flight there for it to add those additional flights?

The idea of this was - if application will migrate flights for airports in the area or user's airports (source, destination) - there will be enough traffic.
To clarify, those things intended to be application's under the hood which require user's zero action (somehow user should get enough traffic).

Due to fact that it looks like doesn't work as expected and we get many reports about lack of traffic - it will be improved soon in scope of V2.

So at the meantime, visiting famous airports and let FSHud to load and inject traffic for this airport is a workaround that should work.
Keep in mind - during application's AIRAC changes, all migrated traffic is reset. But I believe it this will be fixed before next AIRAC update.

@FSHud Thanks for the clarification! I do indeed have lots of traffic anyway, so it’s not a big issue.

Thanks for your great work with FSHud (v2). I’m really enjoying using it. It’s added a whole new dimension to the simulator with the injected AI and painless speech recognition in the most recent builds.

@FSHud Just to reiterate what @Redge said, thank you for the clarification.

I just finished another 12 hour flight and it was a phenomenal experience.

Thank you for all the work!

IMO without AI traffic would be Pilot2ATC. Even now with its new 3.0 version. Feature rich. And I do mean feature rich. IFR or VFR. Won't vector you into mountains and lets you do touch and goes (pattern work etc). Voices are meh but I have downloaded Ceres and Ivona voices on the cheap and they do the job. There is freeware available. I also use ATC chatter as it fills the background with various voices from ATC or pilots/ground in certain regions of the world.

It meshes well with weather sources, navigraph and I dont need to use little nav map any more. Plays well with AI traffic as well (it will warn you of traffic, taxing planes or wake turbulence etc etc).

In fact, when it comes to features, I don't think anything comes close.

If you want a solid, without a hitch ATC then this is it. You can train your computer for speech to text to get started. You can have the CoPilot do a big chunk of your work at the beginning.

The others have fancier options like AI voices, controlling traffic.

Complaints of Pilot2ATC are its UI (no longer true with new update), lack of controlling AI traffic and its default voices. These are all true and legitimate. BUT if you're looking for a solid ATC that is offline....this is it.

Overall, I like BATC the best. But its inflexibility is troublesome.

Last night I was taking the MAX out of KDCA. It insisted I use runway 04. Except that is a 5000' runway the MAX can't use. Even the AI was using 01 (which is proper).

You can't change departure runways at all, so I had to cheese it by requesting take off next to 04, and then moving to 01 and actually leaving.

I did mention this on the discord and they said there is no code to change departing runways.

This exact inflexibility keeps me away from BATC. FSHud is a way more flexible in this matter

I also really like BATC and use it daily. The one issue i am still seeing is planes landing and taxiing off the runway get stuck, and then overlap each other. You see 20 planes on top of each other. This happened yesterday at KLAX.

Are you on V2 or V3? I recall a setting on V2 that specifically accounted for terrain. I haven't seen the same setting in V3 and wondered whether it lost the capability or whether it is now not able to be deselected.

I'm using 2 at the moment, got 3, but seems like I need to do the voice training again for it.... Don't recall that settinig - have to have a look..

Don't normally quote myself, but since I can't edit the post... ...

With P2ATC v3 have now done all of the voice training, not been able to do a thing with either the original version I had, or after an update, or the update after that. Not recognising anything I say other than the callsign when I can get it into the program and not getting ATC voice playing some of the time. I'd definitely class it as VERY early access...

I am sure you are aware (and if you are already, then i apologize) you train with Windows, not necessarily P2ATC. Pilot2ATC merely uses the windows speech to text from Windows itself....

PilotEdge hands down. Say Intentions used with PilotEdge when outside of PE coverage area or to add towers with in PE's coverage area is a winning combo.

Not quite, you have to run the training through Pilot2ATC (which launches the Windows speech recognition with appropriate phrases, for each different type of controller) - If you just do it through the Windows dialogue it doesn't *seem* to help, but then it is getting you to read in a very different way.

Hmmm I thought you didn't need to. I assumed (like I did) that you go straight to Windows Speech and do it there. I would practice there for a while if I had issues. Is it working now?

I will have to take out a second mortgage on my home to afford to use SAY intentions plus Pilot Edge.  Lets see that would be about $550 a year, if my math is correct. 😉
