Which is possible in MSFS2024 as well; but with an elaborate flight planner, better graphics, improved weather and evolved physics. So basically MSFS2020 plus, and a very big plus for that matter. Of course you do no have to use the mission system, just as you do not have to do the challenges in MSFS2020. October 1, 20241 yr New releases are always buggy so I never rush into a new install. My plan is to wait at least three months. October 1, 20241 yr I'm ready for the new game and doing circles wondering if I want it right at launch but part of me wants to wait and see if they will do justice to large swathes of the world that are neglected in FS20. For example Alaska, Central & South America. I fly a lot in those parts of the world and if I drop the large chunk of cash on FS24 and still see Bing imagery contaminated with clouds and FS9-style terrain I wont be thrilled. Example from FS20 flying towards Panama from Colombia. Those are clouds stuck on the Bing imagery. Edited October 1, 20241 yr by ThrottleUp
October 1, 20241 yr 2020 will get uninstalled within weeks of the release of 2024 for me. I’m really looking forward to playing the new game which shows improvement (to varying degree) in almost every area. 2020 will just stagnate and fall further behind the deeper we go into the lifecycle of the new sim. I see no reason to stay with 2020 once compatibility with your current addons have been confirmed by the end user. It would be like having a phone or iPad and never perform a software update. I never said any such thing. I mentioned one improvement in 2024 which is 4000 times more detailed than in 2020. In my book that is a huge step forward. It is quite ridiculous you think such a statement is demented. Then you clearly misunderstood what that argument implied. That wasn't comparing the jump between the two, that was a generalized statement of why did the person ever move past FSX when things like actual simulator improvements clearly aren't of concern. Then one might as well stay with any old outdated platform, if it's simply to putter around the sky with no regard to the core elements that make up a simulator. However, as it turns out, it's just a surface-level desire to have better visuals and no real interest in the simulation aspect. Quite simple... you appeared to be backing up the 'FSX' comment. I do find it laughable that 2 months ago if someone had said anything about some areas having a lack of detail in MSFS the attack dogs would of circled.... now they are attack dogs for a game that isn't even released yet... I'm with you on PMDG, Fenix and even the Maddog X all functioning properly in the new game/sim whatever anyone calls it. I will play with selected few default planes (A330 and the 737 max) but I will have MS2020 as a backup though.
