Not the end of the world that a handful here are making it out to be. Though certainly an easy win and one that would be appreciated by a lot of people for further increasing immersion.

Oh no the puddles are drying too fast!
What amateurs🫠

(I'm not saying we shouldn't be criticising the sim, I agree there's stuff is up in the air around functionality and effectiveness.
But sometimes you have to look at the whole picture to see what is a priority and what isn't on a project this size. That's all.)

Why ?

Man, I hope some other company creates the ultimate flight simulator that apparently is super easy to make,  just that no one seems to be able to make it!

I wonder why, when apparently rank amateurs can create MSFS 2024.. I wonder what would happen if the real professionals took over.

9800X3d, 4090, 64 GB DDR5 6000 RAM, 4 TB NVME (2x2), 4K Ultra + Framegen

Remember, Tech Alpha is not a final build. It really was washed down even compared to MSFS2020 standards

And even if Asobo were to implement this, people would still complain. "It's 90 degrees and sunny with low humidity, why is the runway still wet 2 hours after raining??" Those complaining because another sim has this feature... A quick search shows people complaining about the feature in that sim since it can easily get false positives for wet runways or dry runways when it starts raining. There are more important things to simulate than the time it takes for water to accumulate and evaporate on a runway.

Can't really compare MSFS to a racing sim that only needs to simulate one track at a time, during a limited timeframe at that.

Sure, aprons not properly accumulating water when raining is unfortunate, but to try and use that and other specific issues not addressed yet and spin 2024 as an overall negative or as only improving trivial things (while ignoring all the major core improvements) is.. comical.

It seems to me it's a generational thing, the difference between us 'oldies' who flew FS4 and even before, and the youngsters who grew up with all them shiny games at their hands.
Some of the comments of the youngsters annoy me, but in the end imho, we always need all generation's involvement for different dynamics.

Missions and data streaming (to meet xbox limitations) are the main drivers behind 2024.

Instead of meet Xbox limitation why not to use PC capabilities?

This Xbox is like a stone on the PC users neck 😡

Please explain what Xbox limitation you are referring to, otherwise let's drop this Xbox vs PC. Which PC capabilities are they not using? As far as I'm aware the performance will scale according to your hardware(CPU cores, GPU, Ram).

As a user with both a top of the line PC and a Xbox series X, I can tell you that the xbox series x can run the sim at 4k better than many PCs(ex.  GTX 20 series GPU).

More important things such as career mode and fighting forest fires ?

People complaining is not a reason not to include a feature

I'm going to have more fun in career mode than staring at wet pavement, so yes, I'd say it is more important. If I want to land or take off from a wet runway, I'll set the weather to rain...

Well, that's you. Each one is entitled to his own opinion to what is more priority or fun.

Nah... it's because the other sim has puddles .... It's a puddle sim 😁!

Jokes apart, from my POV the only aspect that will really matter is runway contamination and how it impacts aircraft operations.

If there's a strong shower of rain and the runway becomes wet and get's it's puddles here and there then that may affect landing and departing aircraft, so, even if not visible, some SIM variable(s) should account for that and relay the information to the flight and ground physics models...
