Going to try this on my next flight. Somewhere with a lot of shipping traffic, just have to think of somewhere.... 7950X3D | RTX 4090 | 64GB DDR5

You can see aircraft models several miles out, some of the boat models require you to be like 300 meters away before they appear. But it's just model rendering, the AI ships are still technically there the models are just not rendering far away. It doesn't happen with all the ship models, but it is most of them from what I can tell. 14 hours ago, Christopher Low said: I would have thought that GAIST is more than enough to satisfy the requirements of most flight simmers the GAIST team helped Asobo implement their live ship traffic. They were working on their own version, but their provider was bought out and then Jorg approached them to help work it into 2024. It was talked about at FSExpo 1:05:00 if it doesn't automatically go there. Edited December 29, 20241 yr by Tuskin38
December 29, 20241 yr How did it end up becoming a mess then? It seems to me that it is another example of why the release of MSFS 2024 should have been delayed. Some people may argue that faulty AI ship traffic is not a good enough excuse for this, but I disagree. GAIST is one of the best addons for MSFS 2020 and P3D as far as immersion and realism are concerned. I know for certain that my enthusiasm to use MSFS 2024 would be significantly affected if the AI ship traffic was acting like a clown fest. I would prefer using 2024 with faulty ship traffic rather than waiting xx months for the product to be perfect. I am seeing few bugs but enjoying 2024 immensely. December 30, 20241 yr I have disabled default ship traffic for now. In graphics menu - not sure if there are other settings. Been running GAIST for the last few days but I keep forgetting to look for ships... I did see a couple near Gibraltar though. 7950X3D | RTX 4090 | 64GB DDR5
December 30, 20241 yr I've not seen ANY default AI ship traffic at all. Haven't tried GAIST yet - will have to be on the to-do list...is there an updated version? Kevin Firth - AMD 9800X3D; Asus Prime X670E; 64Gb Cas30 6000 DDR5; RTX5090; AutoFPS
