I have never had a crash in 2024. My loading time has never got as high as 3 minutes (a couple dozen login and fly sessions). Except for 1/2 a day on the first day. I see nothing that bothers me very much, just little things (lights that won't turn on, displays on the panel too light or dark, glitches in the radios) nothing serious at all. None of the scenery has ever looked worse than that in 2020. It's equal or better.

I have done nothing special or used any tweaks. Nor logged in at weird hours of the day. But I have zero in my community folder so maybe that's a reason.

YT is full of complaint videos. But there's also long flights for hours with nothing looking particularly bad that I can see.

The only thing I do different is always fly on the Western USA server (where I live).

I have tried to be patient.  Alas...this platform in its current state is a mess.     I will come back when things are better.  If they ever do.  I am really dissapointed in this release.  Back to 2020.

i just installed it an hour ago. tried my way to to useless character style creation that in my opinion does not belong in such a game.

Already there it took ages to load all the different faces (not going to mention that i miss finding some suitable middle european "white" characters....)

now in a test flight over Lisbon and not textures in the plane. always the message "bandwith too low"... i am on a 1000 internet connection so that should not be the issue. Tried via vpn different locations, not getting better.

@Microsoft: Thanks for this sh..y peace of software, sorry. you could and shold have done better. i am out too for the time being...

i start to realize that Flight Simulation gaming acts as a "Psychotherapy", a release of nerves, anger and negative emotions with the new platform as the main trigger.  MSFS2024 has great potentials , be patience.

for me it is about wasting my lifetime to something that looks like it has never gone through a Beta testing. They should have learned with the release and maturing of 2020. As an example, why not just staying with the old GUI ? in germany you would say "Verschlimmbessern" to what happend with 2024.

I agree, i liked also the 2020 GUI, but for sure they had a good reason to change it. For Asobo it would be easier to just have the same menu  and save time and money. I will remind you the problematic transition period of windows 10 to 11.

I still don't understand why they  didn't keep our own cloud profiles with our hardware settings, controls , custom keyboard shortcuts and cameras while the whole Platform now is streaming though a server.

I really don't blame people for quitting, refunding or just putting this game aside for now - it's a mess.

Personally I'm persevering only because I want it to work well enough to do some simple flying, something I've not been able to do yet, but my patience is wearing thin.

As you all know I've moaned very loudly about poor Quality Control within Asobo - nothings changed on that front!

To be fair that's comparing a 4yo patched sim with a typical modern pre order first impressions post release scam.

I'd like to see the week one figures for 2020 for a fair comparison.

Also things aren't definitely improving. Day 1 reviews were OVERWHELMING NEGATIVE while now they're only MOSTLY NEGATIVE. You can almost here the clinking of champagne glasses down at Asobe HQ (some leaky basement supply cupboard next to the janitors room in Microsofts Castle [Tm] ?)

Well, they certainly don't seem to have achieved what they want in 2024 so far...

Rubbish, 2024 is an advance over 2020 in many areas.

Typing this whilst descending into WADD flying the A332 been a great flight.

Which areas as of now?

For transparency: I'm a community mentor at the BATC discord. However, I do not get paid for it in any way.

I had 30 mins or so last night and have to say it was OK ! Granted it was only 30 mins..... Thrustmaster Warthog basic control functions and pedals all worked as they should.

I tried the C152 from my local flying club and it did look a lot nicer than 2020

It did take longer to load the flight than 2020 and also the 152's lights didn't seem to be working but after my initial 97% debacle I came away feeling more positive.

It helps I suppose that I didn't preorder and fully intended to keep flying 2020 until 2024 matured a bit.

Having participated in the 2020 Alpha this release doesn't surprise me at all it must have been a full year before I fully adopted 2020 from P3D.

So in a nutshell I certainly feel sorry for the people who have stumped up a not inconsiderable amount of cash but that's the risk you always take. I have no doubt that in a years time ( if we are all still here ) things will be much much better.

Maybe they will give us an option to do a full install in the future ?

Quietly optimistic.
